Brief Synopsis:
This is the story of Otaru Mamiya and his three marionettes: Lime, Cherry, and Bloodberry. Marionettes are androids created to look like females and fulfill the role of the female on Terra II, a planet populated solely by men.
300 years ago, the spaceship "Mesopatamia" had an accident while approaching orbit of Terra II and when the escape ship crashed on the planet, only six men survived. To populate the planet and thrive, they resorted to cloning. They also tinkered with the genetics of the clones to produce many different types of men with different characteristics.
In memory of the human female, they created marionettes, souless machines that look like women. Our protaginist, Otaru, soon discovers Lime, Cherry, and Bloodberry, who possess 'maiden circuits' that give them the ability to experience and express emotions. This gives them each their own distinct personality, and like Otaru says, "They seem no different than humans."
Like many other anime series, the main hero is pursued by several women, and Lime, Cherry, and Bloodberry are the same in that respect. However, one MAJOR difference, is that these three get along very well and care about each other, helping the others out when they need it. That doesn't preclude them from fighting over Otaru from time to time, however!
Name: Otaru Mamiya

Character Synopsis: The main protagonist, who awakens Lime, Cherry, and Bloodberry. He grows to love them, though he does seem somewhat more partial to Lime. He has a good heart and will fight for what he believes in, and to protect those he cares about.
Special abilites: Is a moderately good martial artist and wields a funky sword weapon (see picture above).

Character Synopsis: Lime acts very much like a hyperactive kid and is naive to many of the workings of the world. She does the most growing up as she learns about life and death, yet still retains the innocence she starts with. Like Cherry and Bloodberry, she loves Otaru deeply and would do anything for him. Her emotions are the purest of the three.
Special abilites: In a word: Speed. She's the fastest of the three and a pretty good fighter with good strength.

Character Synopsis: The second marionette Otaru awakens. She acts very much like a standard japanese housewife. She cooks very well and cleans, and also has intense daydreams about Otaru that cause her to 'drop out' of reality for a little while. Also has a small chest and is teased about it from time to time, especially by Bloodberry.
Special Abilities: Possess an advanced battle computer and sensors. Easily capable of analyzing the situation and interacting with computers. Less powerful than Lime and Bloodberry, but still better than a human.
Name: Bloodberry
Sex:Female
Age:??
Character Synopsis:The oldest acting of the three. She's very mature and is determined to get Otaru alone and make a man out of him, much to the annoyance of Cherry.
Special abilities:The strongest of the three and a very mean fighter. When she first showed up she was analyzed and said to have a very high fighting power, but that seems to drop down some as she starts living with Otaru.
Name:Hanagata
Sex:Male
Age:around 17-18
Character Synopsis:The standard comedic relief for the series, Hanagata loves Otaru. Yes, he is male, but on an all-male, you don't have much choice. In fact, loving a marionette is seen as perverted an unnatural because they are just machines, so Hanagata's behavior is seen as normal. However, Otaru has no such inclinations towards him, but does put up with him. Hanagata does tend to tag along on the adventures, though he doesn't seem to contribute much.
Special abilities: None really.
Name:Shogun Ieyasu

Character Synopsis: The shogun of Japoness, the Japanese state of Terra II. He's one of the direct clones of the orginial six, in fact the 15th such clone to rule his country.
Special abilities: None
Name:Lorelei
Sex:Female
Age:In her late 20s?
Character Synopsis: The only flesh and blood female in the series. I have a hunch that Lorelai designed Lime, Cherry, and Bloodberry, and imbued them with three aspects of herself. She's the picture that Otaru sees in the Japoness Pioneer History Museum, and is crucial to the survival of Terra II.
Special abilities: None
