Sailor Venus, Princess of the planet Venus, is the senshi of Love. Her alternate identities include Aino Minako, and Sailor V, aside from Sailor Venus. She was the first Senshi to be found by either of the guardian cats, and resided in England fighting everyday crime until Sailors Moon, Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter were found. Then she came to Tokyo to meet them and fight with them as a team.
In the manga, when she first arrived, everyone thought that she was the Moon Princess due to the crescent moon on her forhead, and the fact that that is what Artemis told everyone when they first met. She, like any Libra, possesed the beauty and grace of any princess, so they were easily taken in until it was revealed the Usagi was the Moon Princess.
