Thai New Year is in Thai's summer month, April. In this holiday, people celebrates by splashing water to other person. It is celebrate country wide.
Thai year is 543 more than of Western calendar. For example, in year 2000 of Western calendar, for Thailand it is year 2543. Nonetheless, the day system still follows the Western calendar system.
Thai national anthem can be hear daily at 8 A.M. and 6 P.M. on television, radio, civil office building, etc. The tradition started in 1976 (�.�. 2519)
Thai people love the monarch. Any offensive language against the monarch could be consider as illegal.
In Thai, Bangkok is call KrungThep. The reason is because KrungThep was known as Bangkok until around 1700 (?--couldn't remeber) that the King changed the name to Krung-Thep-MaHar-NaKorn....
