Dragoneths are females who watch over the Dragons of Terragaia, and prevent anyone from waking the Master Dragons. They have lived on Terragaia as long as the Dragons have been alive.

All Dragoneths have long hair pulled into a braid. The hair is any color, but most Dragoneths have black hair. They are sometimes mistaken for Elves because of their ears, but one look at their hands poves otherwise. Instead of fingernails, Dragoneths have Dragon claws; it is said that the Dragoneths were born from the Master Dragons themselves.

A Dragoneth's genes are dominant; therefore, when a Dragoneth mates with someone, no matter what the race, if the child is female, she shall become a Dragoneth.

From birth, Dragoneths are trained in the arts of swordsmanship and magic. Their innate magical ability is determined when they cast their first spell, and from then on, they will be trained with that element. At the age of 15, the young Dragoneth will be chosen by a baby Dragon, which she will be responsible for the rest of her life. This process is called the Awakening.

The Dragoneth will also be responsible for the Master Dragon of her element. There are 4 Master Dragons, so a Dragoneth with combined magic will be responsible for the two Master Dragons of her combined magic.
