The Werewolf Child

In the midst of the night the young girl stood, her hair blowing unconsciously in the wind. The sky was clear and filled with stars, with a full moon illuminating the earth. All was quiet around her, a sign that the predators were on their nightly hunt.

She stared in horror at her hands, which were growing and covered with fur. She dropped to her knees, covering her ears that were now pointy and two times larger. She could feel her face tingle as dark hair seeped out. Her mouth and nose grew together into a long muzzle.

What is this? She muttered through her heavy breathing. Mother told me about my power, but this this is unbelievable! A surge of pain swept throughout her body, and she screamed out in agony. Her eyes flashed a bright green, and all of her fur turned a fiery yellow.

Up in the sky, clouds slowly moved towards the moon, partially covering it. At this, the fur on the girls body vanished, and her face grew back to what it used to be. Her eyes changed back to a dark green, which looked up at the moon in wonder.

So thats what triggers it, she whispered. A wave of dizziness overwhelmed her, and she fell back to the ground, her eyes seeing only black. Father, she murmured. Where are you?

*******

Trunks! Could you give me a hand, please?

Trunks looked up from where he had been rebuilding Capsule Corp.s roof. Im coming, Mother! He shouted back.

It had been a year since Trunks had defeated the androids a Cell. Since then, he and Bulma had helped the people rebuild their cities, along with their own homes. In the year, a significant amount of work had been finished.

So, what do you need, Mother? Trunks asked as he walked into the room.

I just need some help with this- Bulma was cut off by the sound of the doorbell ringing.

Ill get it. Trunks rushed to the door, wondering who would be at the door at six in the morning. He opened the door and found no one. The only thing that greeted him was the wind.

Trunks? Whos at the door? Bulma appeared at Trunks side, peering out the doorway.

No one Trunks was distracted by a large power level standing at the side of the house. He ran out despite Bulmas protests. The chilly weather greeted him, but being a Saiyan, Trunks hardly felt the cold. There was no one outside, although the power level still remained. Trunks rested his hand on his sword, his body tense. He couldnt get a fix on the powers location.

Something light touched his shoulder, and immediately Trunks spun around, whipping out his sword and holding it against the intruders neck.

Hey! The stranger jumped back, gently rubbing the side of her neck. Thats not made of silver, is it?

Trunks stared long and hard at the girl who stood before him. Dark green eyes stared back with a look of wariness and coldness. Her light purple hair stuck to her face, all except for the strands of hair on either side, held in a hair wrap. Her outfit was strange; a white robe, with the ends of its sleeves and the very bottom with dark blue and light orange triangles.

Who are you? Trunks demanded, lowering his sword to his side. The girl looked harmless, but her ki said differently.

You really dont know me? The girl looked hurt. So Mother was right, then. This really is the past.

You havent answered my question. Trunks raised the sword to the girls heart. Now tell me. Who are you?

My name is Desdemona, the girl said, wincing at Trunks sword. Im your daughter. Trunks dropped his sword.

What? His voice flew to a whisper.

Youd better believe it, Daddy, Desdemona said, smiling. Dont you see the resemblance? Look into my eyes. Look at my hair. Who else has purple hair?

Trunks realized that this girl was right. Her eyes were green, but they possessed the same coldness as Trunks. And her hair was the exact same color as his own.

Alright, he said after a while. Come inside.

Why?

Do you want to stay out here in the freezing cold? Desdemona eyed Trunks, clad in only his dark grey pants and a black tank top.

You dont look cold.

Thats because Im not cold. Trunks sighed in annoyance. just come inside with me, okay? I need to talk to my mother.

Oh, you mean Grandma? Great! Id love to finally meet her. Trunks just stared as Desdemona bounced into the house yelling, Grandma! Im home! followed by Bulmas screams of, TRUUUUUUNKS! What is this maniac doing in my house?

******

So tell me who you really are. Trunks, Desdemona, and Bulma sat in the laboratory. Bulma was getting ready to take a sample of Desdemonas blood.

Well, I already- ow! told you who I am. Desdemona winced as the needle was stuck into the crook of her arm. But its a long story, so plan on staying here awhile.

Well, you know how you defeated Cell? Trunks nodded. Well, before that, he had laid an egg and sent it off into space to live until it was strong enough to move. Thats when you killed Cell soon after. A year later you met my mother Larissa, and then you had me. Fourteen years passed, and the Cell jr. came out of his cocoon and flew down to Earth, where he started to kill everybody. You tried to stop him, but he killed you, too. Desdemona looked down before continuing. My mother then sent me here to the past. She said there was nothing left for me, so she sent me back here to live with you.

How did you get here? Bulma asked, putting the small container of blood in a freezer. Did you come by a time machine? -No. My mother had the gift of magic. Thats how she sent me back here. She used her magic.

Magic casters Bulma thought for a minute. Ive read about them, but Ive never actually seen one.

Theres not many of us left, Desdemona admitted. She grinned sheepishly. Actually, my mother and I are the only magic-casters I know of.

Wait a second! Trunks said quickly. That Cell jr. you were talking about is he up in space right now?

Maybe Desdemonas eyes lit up. Yes! He must be! Weve got to kill him before he wakes up!

Mom, are there any spaceships still intact? Trunks asked.

Well, there is one, but its pretty messed up. I guess its because its old. But if you give me a few days, I can have it fixed.

Thanks, Grandma! Desdemona cried. Bulma cringed a little at the name, but smiled as best as she could. Hey Grandma, how long will it take to get that DNA tested?

"Ill get it done by tomorrow morning, Bulma said wearily. Trunks, will you please show Desdemona to one of the guest rooms?

Sure. Come on. Trunks led Desdemona up a flight of stairs and down the hallway where they stopped at one of many doors. Trunks opened the door and allowed Desdemona inside. If you need anything, just yell. My rooms just around the corner.

Thank you. Desdemona spun around and embraced trunks in a short hug. Gnight, Daddy. She looked up at Trunks, who was blushing furiously. She only giggled and lightly pushed him out of the room, softly closing the door.

Trunks stood in that spot for a long time until he finally snapped out of it. What if she is my daughter? He thought, Its strange very strange. Ive never heard of a magic caster who could send people back in time. He decided not to worry about it too much, since his head was starting to hurt. With his mind set on sleep, he headed to his room, everything else forgotten.

~*~*~*~*~*~

I cant believe it! Trunks looked over Bulmas shoulder to see what she was reading. Trunks, look! This girl really is your daughter! Trunks sank into his chair, his mind spinning. Bulma handed him the test results, and he read it with a dazed look on his face.

So I have a daughter now Trunks said weakly. Who would have thought? What would Gohan think?

I found something strange when I checked the blood sample. Bulma pointed to the results. I see Saiyan blood, and a little bit of human but this other blood is strange. Its not human blood.

"Well, if its not human blood, then what is it?

Its werewolf blood. Both Trunks and Bulma jumped. Desdemona was in the doorway of the laboratory. She pulled up a chair and sat next to Trunks. My mother was a werewolf.

A werewolf? But I thought werewolves only existed in stories.

Nope. Theyre real. Im sorry I cant show you right now. Its just like in the stories; I only change during a full moon. So until the next full moon, I dont have any proof of what I say.

You said yesterday that I net you mother a year after the androids and Cell were killed. Trunks said after awhile. Well, its been a year. When will I meet her?

Well Desdemona chewed her lip thoughtfully. Whats todays date?

September 25. Desdemonas eyes lit up.

Hey! You and my mother met on September 26!

Where?

I dont know. A sweat drop appeared on Trunks forehead. Im sorry, Desdemona added. I never asked them where they met.

Hey, Desdemona Trunks hesitated before continuing. What was your mother like?

She was beautiful. Desdemonas eyes glistened as she spoke. I have the same eyes as she did; a dark green. When she looked at you, you couldnt help but do whatever she said; she had that effect on you. She had a sense of dignity to her which showed whenever she was out on the streets. Desdemona laughed nervously before continuing. But when she got mad, everyone stayed clear. Her attitude was so bad, even you stopped away from her. She sighed. She was brave until the very end. I dont regret any time I spent with her." She looked up at Trunks, but he was lost in thought. What? She asked.

"I was just thinking she and my father would get along just fine.

Whys that? Trunks looked down at her and smiled softly.

Well

A loud scream from outside made both Trunks and Desdemona jump out of their seats.

What was that? They rushed outside with Bulma trailing closely behind. When they opened the front door, they found.

Cell?

Standing on the front lawn holding a man upside down by the legs was someone that looked like Cell. His skin was a much darker green, and his eyes were the color of blood, which eyed Desdemona up and down.

No Desdemona whispered, stepping back. It cant be you! Youre not supposed to be here! The Cell look-a-like smiled and dropped the man he was holding.

It looks like I finally found you, my dear Desdemona, he said, taking a step forward. Trunks stepped in front of Desdemona, tightly gripping the hilt of his sword.

Dont come any closer, he growled, taking out his sword and holding it in a ready position in front of him.

Or else what? With a flick of his wrist, the imposter Cell sent Trunks flying into the wall of the house. Desdemona rushed to his side and helped him up.

Get up, Father, she said. You cant be beaten that easily. She glared up at the Cell, who merely crossed his arms in amusement.

My dear Desdemona, he said, nearing closer to Desdemona. why are you trying to protect your father? You couldnt protect him in the future, so why bother now?

Because I wont let the same thing happen again. Desdemona stood up straight, her green eyes flashing fire. She held out her right hand, and a yellow sphere appeared, floating up and down. I should have done this a long time ago, she said in a low voice. With a loud yell, she hurled the sphere at Cell. A huge explosion ensued, the bright light making even Trunks turn away. When the smoke cleared, Cell was still standing.

Im sorry your plan failed, Cell said, walking toward Desdemona. But youll have to do better than that. He backed Desdemona up into the wall. The only reason I came back in time was to find you, my dear. I was devastated when I found out you had left, so I followed you, thanks to you precious mother. Desdemona growled. You mean more to me than anything else in the universe. Just say the word, and Ill tear the world apart for you. Please, my love. Tell me youll be mine.

A hand swept out and tightly grasped Cells throat. Get away from my daughter. Cell was thrown across the yard and landed flat on his back in the grass. He looked up in shock and saw Trunks standing in front of Desdemona, his arms crossed. His blue eyes were narrowed and had a clod sense to them.

Damn you! Cell cursed. How dare you interfere with my plans!

The only plans you have are with me. No one- and I mean NO ONE- proposes to my daughter without my permission. And with that, he let out a scream that echoed through the heavens. His hair shot up and turned a golden blonde.

Cell stood up and dusted himself off, and smiled at Trunks. Going Super Saiyan wont help you this time, he said, his smile growing wider. He glanced in Desdemonas direction. Right, Desdemona? Trunks looked back at his daughter. She stared at the ground, her fists clenched.

Hes right, she whispered. Her voice quivered as she spoke. In my time, you tried to kill Cell by turning Super Saiyan, but he- her voice cracked but she swallowed and went on. He was too strong for you. He shot you through the chest before you were within a foot of reaching him.

"Yes, its too bad, isnt it? Cells aura grew brighter. You watched your father die in the future, and youll watch him die now! He laughed hysterically. Trunks looked from Desdemona to Cell, and growled softly.

Desdemona, go inside, he said, his eyes still on Cell.

But father, I-

Go! Desdemona stood still for a second, opening her mouth in protest. She thought better of it, then nodded and stepped into the house but not before stopping to glare at Cell.

Such an overprotective father, Cell said as Desdemona closed the door. I hope you got a good look at her, because youll never see her again.

Trunks only smirked. A heavy wind blew around them, whispering through Trunks hair. Well see about that, he whispered. All of a sudden he charged toward Cell, his face the look of murder. Cell merely stopped aside as trunks flew past him. Trunks stopped abruptly and spun back around, then threw a punch at Cells face. Cell easily caught his hand and squeezed hard. Trunks flinched, but didnt cry out. With his free hand Cell punched Trunks hard in the stomach. Then, letting go of Trunks fist, he began punching him with both hands. Blood began to stream down trunks mouth. Just as Cell was about to deliver the final blow, Trunks faded away, right when Cell threw his fist forward. Cell started when he found only air. The next thing he knew he was crashing into the house, staring up at a horrified Bulma. Cell growled and flew out of the opening in which he had made. When he saw Trunks, he made a beeline toward him, his arm pulled back. Trunks was violently pushed backward by the blow, and his head snapped back. As Trunks fell to the ground, he was vaguely aware of a presence standing before him. He opened his weary eyes and saw Cell wiping blood from his mouth.

No ones ever made me bleed, he said, frowning at the red stain on his hand. Youre the first. The Trunks in the future didnt last half this long. He chuckled to himself softly.

Why? Trunks propped himself up onto his elbows with much effort. His right eye had swollen itself shut, so he glared up at Cell with his good left eye. Why are you here? And why Desdemona?

Desdemona has a spark in her that must be brought out. Cells eyes brightened. You know what she is, Trunks. A werewolf. A creature like that has a lot of power. Im merely trying to bring it out.

For what? Your own evil schemes? Cell grinned.

Of course, he said. His smile widened. Of course she is a beautiful girl, isnt she? Trunks jumped to his feet, trying not to wince at the pain.

If you touch one hair on her head, I swear on my dead father Ill tear you limb from limb. He tried to sound menacing, but his voice was too weak. Cell only laughed.

Big threats from such a small man. Cell raised a finger and shot Trunks through the stomach with a small but powerful beam. Without even cryi9ng out, Trunks fell lifelessly to the ground. His head fell to one side, and then he was still. The loud wind had now dropped to a whisper. Not even the birds made a sound.

What a pity, Cell murmured. He never even had a chance to say goodbye. He turned away and headed toward the Capsule Corp. house. Desdemona appeared in the hole in the wall, her eyes as wide as saucers.

You killed him, she whispered. Her hands balled up into fists, and her face turned a beet red. You killed him!

Again. Cell smiled. In the blink of an eye, he was standing in front of Desdemona. He grabbed her wrists and held tightly against her struggling. Now nobody stands in my way of getting you. Desdemona cried out, and they both vanished. The only sign that they were there was Trunks laying lifelessly on the ground, the wind rustling through his lavender hair.

~*~*~*~*~*~

He saw images of a beautiful young girl leaning over him. Her dark green eyes were filled with worry, but they brightened when he opened his own eyes.

Are you okay? She asked. She frowned when he didnt reply. I wouldnt be surprised if you werent. You hit your head pretty hard in the fall. How were you flying?

Trunks slowly sat up, rubbing the back of his head where he felt a large lump. He looked around and was shocked when he found himself lying on the sidewalk in the city. It was then that he noticed there was no gash in his stomach, no sign that he had ever been hurt. He looked back over at the girl who sat on her knee in front of him. Long brown hair fell over her shoulders as she shook her head.

Why wont you talk to me? She asked. Cant you speak?

Yes I can. Something wasnt right about this place. As he looked around, the buildings surrounding him, blurred as if he were underwater.

Whats wrong? The girl raised an eyebrow. You act like youve never seen a city before. She stood up and held out her hand. Trunks took it, and she helped him up, trying not to fall on top of him because of his weight. When Trunks tried to stand up straight he stumbled and fell into the girls arms. Youre not well, she said, noticing the way Trunks eyes were glazed over. You need to rest. Let me take you somewhere safe.

No, Im fine. Trunks looked into the girls eyes. They were filled with an innocence and beauty that made him shiver. She looks so familiar Who are you, and what is this place?

Oh, sorry. Ive been rude, havent I? My name is Larissa, and youre in North City.

Larissa? Oh, no. that means Trunks gently pried Larissas hands away from him and backed away.

Whats wrong? Larissa looked hurt.

I cant stay here. Trunks voice quivered. I know what this is. He looked up to the sky and yelled, You can stop now, Larissa. Im listening.

Time stopped at that moment. The image of Larissa froze, then everything faded to black.

So you figured it out, huh? The soft voice echoed in the large void. You always were a clever one, Trunks. Larissa appeared in front of Trunks and smiled up at him. Yes, that is how we met. A mysterious man came falling from the sky and landed head first into the cement. I knew when I saw you that you werent normal. First of all, you woke five minutes later with only a bump on your head. Second, no normal person can fly. As soon as you opened your eyes, I instantly fell in love. I took you to my house, and we started talking. One thing led to another, and, well She started to blush. Well just leave that part out.

Why are you talking to me now? Trunks asked. And how are you talking to me?

Im dead. I can do whatever I want. Well, almost anything. Larissa became serious. You know that Desdemonas in trouble, but you cant do anything right now. She looked down. Because youre dead.

Trunks heart stopped. A horrible dread filled him, and the color drained from his face. Dead? He slowly said the word like it was a curse. I cant be dead He clenched his fists. I cant be! His hair flashed gold.

Trunks, stop. Larissa grabbed Trunks wrists. Calm down. Its okay She gently stroked his wrists. Let me explain something. Desdemona wants to find me in your time, Trunks, but Im not in your time. Something must have happened when I sent Desdemona back in time, because Im not there. Tears glistened in her eyes, but she blinked them back. Im sorry

Trunks was filled with horror, mostly with the fact that he was dead. He forced his anger back, however, and he calmly said, So now what? What can I do now? I cant do anything now that Im He couldnt bring himself to say it.

Larissa neared closer to Trunks. Dont worry, she said softly, putting her hand on the back of his neck. I have a last gift to give you. And with that, she leaned forward for a kiss.

Trunks nearly pulled back; he had never kissed a girl before, and this wasnt the right time to practice. After a second, however, he relaxed and leaned into the kiss.

Trunks Larissas voice echoed in Trunks mind. My last gift to you is life. I have enough energy in me to bring you back to the living world. Just remember that I will always love you. The blackness around him swirled, and his mind spun violently. He opened his eyes and saw Larissa fading away into the background.

I love you, he whispered.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Oh my god! Trunks, youre alive!

The pain in his stomach was back now. Trunks attempted to sit up, but he found himself being pushed back down again.

Dont get up, Trunks. You could reopen your wound. But god Trunks, I thought you were

Mother? Bulma hovered over him with tears glistening in her eyes. She had been crying for a long time, Trunks noticed.

Trunks, I was so worried! Her tears welled up again, and she turned so Trunks wouldnt see. You looked dead! She had to choke out the word.

I was. Bulmas head snapped back to Trunks. But that doesnt matter now. Wheres Desdemona?

She was taken away. Im so sorry, Trunks. I couldnt do a thing-

Its okay. Trunks raised a hand to stroke Bulmas hair. There was nothing you could do. He sat up and didnt give in when Bulma pushed him back down.

Trunks, you cant leave now. Have you taken a look at yourself? Bulma pulled back the covers, and Trunks saw a huge stain of red on the bandages tied around his stomach. Youre lucky to even be alive. How do you expect to fight Cell in this condition?

I have to try. A flash of pain ran throughout his body, but he didnt even flinch. If anything happens to Desdemona, I-

Desdemona will be fine. Bulmas voice was firm. I dont think Cell will do anything to her. Not now. Please, Trunks. Rest for at least a few hours, to let your body heal a little.

Trunks tried his hardest to glare at his mother, but weariness overcame him quickly. He lay back in the bed and noticed that Bulma was smiling softly.

Dont worry about her, Trunks, she said. She can take care of herself. Her voice became muffled as Trunks drifted off to sleep.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Bastard! Desdemona screamed as Cell threw her onto the grass.

Those words hurt me, Desdemona. Cell turned his back to her. You shouldnt hurt someones feelings like that.

You killed my father! She choked back her tears and stood up, a bright aura rising around her. You should die a thousand deaths! She blinked when she realized that Cell wasnt replying. Say something, damnit!

What am I supposed to say? Cell looked over his shoulder. Theres no need to waste air, now is there? He looked up at the dark sky. Look up at the stars, my sweet. Arent they beautiful? The sky was filled with glittering dots, with only a few clouds covering the moon.

The only beautiful stars are the ones you havent laid your filthy eyes on, Desdemona spat. Cell turned around sharply and slapped her across the face, knocking her to the ground.

I have little patience for vulgar girls, he said, looming over Desdemona. I dont know what you intend to do, but let me assure you, it will not work. My power exceeds yours a thousand times, so think twice before crossing me again. He smiled, showing his fangs.

And was sent flying to the ground by an energy blast.

What do you think youre doing, Cell?

Cell stared up in horror, and Desdemona cried out, Father! Trunks hovered directly above the two. He wasnt wearing his jacket, exposing his tight black tank top. A bandage was wrapped around his waist and was stained with red. Trunks was breathing heavily, but his eyes flashed fire.

Cell stood up, his eyes widening in shock. H-how did you-? I- youre dead! I killed you! How the hell are you alive?! With an outraged scream, he shot a huge beam into the sky, completely enveloping Trunks. A huge explosion ensued, making Desdemona fall to her knees and cover her face. When the smoke cleared, however, Trunks was still in the air, his arms crossed in front of his face. When he lowered his arms, his face was twisted in fury.

When will you ever learn? he growled. It takes more than that to kill a Saiyan! He began to scream violently, and his hair shot upwards and turned a golden blond. Get out of the way, Desdemona! he yelled. Without a second thought, Desdemona jumped up and dashed toward a safe area. Trunks locked his wrists and brought them behind him, smirking. Gohan didnt leave without teaching me a few of his tricks. A ball of light shone in his hands as he began to power up. Ka..me.ha..me.haaaaa! He thrust his hands forward, shooting a beam of light towards Cell. Cells face was grim with determination as he put his wrists together and put his arms back.

Ka he whispered. Me ha me. HA! An equal sized blast flew from his hands and met Trunks in mid-air. The energy emitting from the foes was unbelievable. Each one sent more and more energy to their blasts, but they were both at a stalemate.

I can feel you slipping, Trunks, Cell said through heavy breathing. Just give up now, before you jeopardize your daughters life. He sent out another burst of energy.

No. trunks released even more energy. I will never give up. He could feel his life quickly fading, but he didnt care.

Something flashed inside his mind, and quicker than the speed of light, he let go of his blast and threw himself to the side as the blasts were sent into space. Cell looked shocked, but a look of confidence appeared on his face, and he smiled. so you decided to give up. His grin grew wider. Its about time.

I told you. Trunks winced at the pain that shot through his body. I never give up. His eyes rolled into the back of his head, and he started to fall to the ground.

Father! Desdemona just barely caught Trunks before he hit the ground. As she lay him down, she saw that he was scarcely alive. He breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Cell. Her eyes flashed in the bright moonlight. Wait. Moonlight? Desdemona tilted her head towards the sky. Overhead, the clouds had moved by, revealing a large full moon glistening brightly in contrast to the dark sky.

Oh no! Cell cried, but it was too late. Desdemona had already begun to change. Dark hair spurted from every part of her body, spreading quickly so all that could be seen were her eyes. Her nose and mouth grew into a snout, which snarled menacingly. Her eyes turned bright yellow and shone coldly in the moonlight.

Desdemona Trunks whispered weakly. Please run. Desdemona smiled down at her father, a wolfish kind of smile.

Dont worry, Father, she said softly in a gruff voice. I can take care of myself now. You just relax and let me take control. Her head snapped toward Cell, and she growled menacingly. I have something I need to take care of.

Cells eyes were filled with shock, but when Desdemona looked at him, he relaxed and put on his amused grin. Very impressive, he said, his voice wavering a bit. I had no idea that the tables would be turned like this. However He crouched in a ready position. I can overcome anything you throw at me. His eyes narrowed as he smiled slyly.

Cell Cells eyes turned to Trunks. Dont hurt her. Please Cell laughed but his laugh caught in his throat when he looked up and saw that Desdemona was gone.

What the he looked back at Trunks, who was smiling weakly. Damn you, Trunks! Two large fireballs formed in his hands. I shall make you suffer like you have never suffered before!

Cell was suddenly knocked to the ground with so much force that the earth shook. Desdemona, he cursed. Desdemona landed in front of him, saliva dripping from her mouth as she panted.

You never give up, do you, Cell? Her voice rumbled deep in her throat. What possesses you to do such things? You dont realize how much it hurts to see loved ones die! She clenched her fists, and she glowed with a yellow aura, the same aura that glowed when You dont feel sorrow, do you? A monster like you would never experience such things! Her fur flashed yellow. The only feeling you know is hatred, hatred that kills without a second thought. Im here to put a stop to this hatred, and if you dare to resist, Ill kill you! With that, she screamed, causing the earth to shake violently. Lightning flashed from the cloudless sky, surrounding Desdemona with a golden aura. Her fur flashed, then turned a bright gold.

This cant be happening Cell whispered. He struggled to stand, but only managed to kneel on one knee.

But it is happening, Cell, Desdemona said in a low voice. You were afraid because I was a werewolf. Now you tremble in terror because I am something even more. I am a Super Saiyan werewolf. Cell screamed in agony, pounding his fists on the ground.

No! he cried. No! This cant happen! You cant be a Super Saiyan and a werewolf! The power you have is

Go ahead and say it, Cell. Desdemona smiled wickedly. My power exceeds yours a thousand times.

In the distance, Trunks was still sprawled on his stomach. He had heard and seen everything, and now he smiled triumphantly. What a daughter, he whispered. She got her looks from her mother and her strength from me. He closed his eyes and relaxed. Desdemona would take care of everything now.

Cell managed to stand, but not without shaking in sheer terror. Desdemona, I-

Shut up. The shine in her eyes made Cell oblige. You have nothing more to say, Cell. Your reign of terror is over. I end it right now. She charged forward in the blink of an eye and thrust her sharp claws into his stomach. As she twisted her hand, Cell screamed in agony and dropped back to his knees, but Desdemona followed. She jerked her hand out and thrust it back in again. Purple blood spewed from his stomach and oozed out of his mouth.

Pitiful. Cells wide eyes stared up into Desdemonas as she said, You tortured millions of people to death, yet you cant stand to have it done to yourself. Cell tried to speak, but Desdemona, with a powerful force, smacked Cell across the face with her other hand, knocking his head clear off. It tumbled a few feet, then stopped. His face was twisted in a look of terror, his eyes wide open.

Desdemona stood up, oblivious to the purple blood that dripped from her body. She looked up at the sky and saw that the clouds had begun to cover the moon. She began to change back into a human, the fur melting away to reveal pink skin. Finally, feeling the effects of weariness, fainted, completely nude. A shadow loomed over he, then bent to gently pick her up.

You did well, my daughter, Trunks whispered. Ignoring his pain, he rose into the sky, his beloved daughter in his arms, and flew away, never looking back.

The world felt peaceful again. The sky was no longer grey and lonely, but bright blue and filled with beautiful birds. The people again began to rebuild their cities, no longer worried of danger. Someone, however, was still aware of a threat.

Trunks sat by his daughters side while she slept, keeping watch. He had recovered more quickly than she had; the battle was three nights ago, but he still felt his wounds like they were still there. His hand went to his stomach. The wound was healed, but the scar told of his pain and heartache, for that was when he had met Larissa; if it was in his dreams, or the afterlife, he was not certain. But it was real; he still felt her lips on his. His heart ached for her, for he knew that they would never see each other again. But he knew that he must go on, for their daughter, their beautiful, powerful daughter.

Desdemona stirred, then slowly opened her eyes, looking up at Trunks. She smiled softly, then went back to sleep, her energy still depleted. Trunks smiled as he brushed her lavender hair out of her eyes. It was time for him to leave, to go destroy what was created; the egg that Cell had created all those years ago. Bulma had finished the spaceship, and it was ready for liftoff. Trunks kissed the top of Desdemonas head before he left for the site.

Trunks readied himself as the spaceship began to take off. The pressure pressed down on him, pinning him to the back of the seat. As the spaceship flew into space, the gravity lifted, and Trunks was able to move freely again. Right away he saw the egg. It was grotesque; it was a putrid green, with large bumps protruding all around the egg. Trunks opened the hatch to step out into space, thanking his Saiyan ancestors for the ability to breathe in space. He floated toward the egg, not daring to touch it. He stuck out his arm, palm facing the egg, and shot a beam at the very heart of it, causing it to explode into a million pieces. Satisfied, he smiled and went back to the ship, directing it back to earth.

Desdemona smiled down at her father as she sat on a high tree branch, watching the sunset. Trunks had told her about his meeting with Larissa and how they would never see her again. Desdemona accepted it over time, but never regretted coming back into the past. This was her home now, she said, and she would always be happy here. Trunks had that in mind as he sat leaned up against the trees. The sun slowly descended, its rays disappearing. As the sky darkened, and the stars came out, the brightest star of them all shimmered as Larissa winked and made thousands of shooting stars that illuminated the dark sky with her light.
