KAIJUTOPIA 2004
Back to G : GENERATIONS
By far the most physically spectacular suit of the series, the Burning Godzilla suit was made as a result of the final movie in the series, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. In this film, Godzilla was scheduled for a gruesome ending, but yet a spectacular exit. This incarnation is basically the dyeing form of the Heisei-Goji, in which his body has absorbed too much radiation, and has begun the meltdown process.
To complete the effect, the MoguGoji suit was heavily modified. Godzillas scales were painted a much deeper charcoal gray, and many patches of his body (including the neck, chest, torso, and thighs) were replaced with fiery glowing apparatuses that would light up in a molting fashion, giving this suit a spectacular meltdown look. Steam spokes were also installed underneath these molting patches that gave off a constant wave of steam from the behemoths body, giving the audience an idea of the immense heat and radiation Godzilla was giving offnot to mention the pain he was enduring.

The spines themselves were also replaced with a new set of molting spines, which continued the extraordinary effect of the other molting patches. These spines were equipped with strings of lights that would flicker on an off simultaneously, giving us an idea of the unstable reactor that the Big G was now housing. Perhaps the extremely effective death this suit delivered excited the crowd, and made them sympathize with Godzilla so strongly that it impacted the much-sooner return of Godzilla than anticipated, in 4 years. That and the (concidered by some) horrible flop that we all know as GINO.
