KAIJUTOPIA 2004
Back to G : GENERATIONS
The Dark Age role of Godzillas past was now clearly such, his past. The MegaroGoji suit continued the friendly trend that the previous suits and movies had incarnated. This suit was first used in Godzilla vs. Megalon, a movie that was extremely obvious in its intentions towards a younger viewing audience. The eyes were enlarged along with the space in the sockets surrounding them, and the snout was made more rounded with the cheeks making a more blatant appearance. Godzillas head was enlarged, and his dorsal spines once again only underwent minor tinkering.
Top Left: Godzilla getting pumped up for the main event in Godzilla vs Megalon
Right: Godzilla hiding a tree (that he is about to smack across Megalon's face) in Godzilla vs Megalon
This suit would later be used in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla with only minor modifications (a more serious tone was added to his smirk and eye-shape, and his spines were given a more grayish sheen), and was seen again in Terror of Mechagodzilla. This suit weighed a mere 88 lbs., putting it in the records as the lightest Godzilla suit ever, and also happens to be one of my favorite incarnations (if you care). It was the last of the friendly Gs, and the last of its Showa Generation.
