Fade in
We find ourselves
back in
“Almost done?” Michael asks the crew.
“Yes, sir, this is the last of it.”
Michael nods, and
glances at his wife. Her look is a bit
far off, staring into the horizon.
Daniel makes a sharp noise and her attention turns towards him, a
motherly look replacing the dazed one.
“Be careful, son ,don’t get sand
in your mouth.”
“Yes mommy!” The boy
replies cheerfully.
Michael smiles,
and goes to sit next to Jasmine, but she turns her head back towards the
horizon, the dazed look back in place.
Michael sighs and goes back to stand with Chamelion and Sandra.
“What’s with that?” Chamelion
asks.
“Remo says that while Jasmine’s instincts as a mother to
Daniel are still intact, there’s still away to go before she sheds the Requiem
persona. Until then, she sees me more as
a captor, then her husband.”
Spitting
on the porch, Chamelion curses under his breath, “Draven!”
“Yes, “ Michael’s voice is chilling, “However, Remo
has made great progress and can coax Jasmine out during hypnosis sessions. He just has to convince the two personas to
switch places, and then concentrate on integrating the Requiem persona.”
“Integrate?” Sandra
asks, “Why not just destroy it?”
Shaking his head,
Michael sighs, “Remo made it clear that Draven could not have created
Requiem unless the seeds of the persona were already there. No, in fact, Jasmine has always had that part
of her. Draven just gave it life.”
“We’ll find him, I swear it, brother. And then revenge will be swift, and deadly.”
Sandra exhales, “Careful you two, or you’ll become just like Draven.”
Michael laughs
harshly, “Lest
for you forget, Little Sister, I’ve been down that road before. Draven is due, and he will pay in blood.”
Sandra rubs her
throat and smiles a humorless smile, “Yes, I remember just how bad you can be.”
Chamelion coughs
to get their attention, “Ok you two, if you’re done reminiscing. There’s another matter of vengeance we should
be focusing on.”
Michael nods, “Sirus and Grifter.”
“Well, “Sandra says, “if you guys are
going into that, I’ll sit with Jasmine and see if I can get her to remember
some things. Therapy, ya know?”
Michael nods
appreciatively, and as Sandra goes over to Jasmine, the Sommers Brothers walk
down the steps and towards the back of the house.
“So, Brother, any idea what that was all
about?”
“The Grimms?” Chamelion asks,
“I’m still rubbing the back of my head to have
a clear thought about how the hell those two could do what they did!”
“I sympathize.” Raizzor feels his forehead for emphasis.
“Ok, first we defend the titles against Mako and Scotty
Snow… and we knew the Grimms had signed.
That was great news! I mean, the return of Team Supreme to the BWF! But No.. instead, we get a taste of ol “Dark Sirus”!”
Cracking his
knuckles, Michael growls, “No, I got that taste!
Grifter kicked you in the back of the head.”
“Yeah, “ Chamelion agrees, “And here I believed the Grimms to be the corner stone of
fair play, goodness and basically two over grown boy scouts. Serves us right for getting
comfortable about that.”
“This is not territory I have experience with, but that
doesn’t mean we won’t be ready when the time comes. Still, I’d like to know what their motivation
for this attack was!”
“Jealousy!” Chamelion snaps his fingers, “That’s what it is?”
“Oh?”
“Sure, I mean, come on!
We’re the BWF Tag-Team Champions!
I’ve held the title since late last year… 100 days and counting… about
ready to even break the streak the Grimms ever had in the PWA! I bet you its sheer jealousy.”
“That’s not Sirus’ usual M.O.” Michael
counters.
“Oh, come on! The
Grimms held the Tag Titles over ten times in the PWA! And you and I are the ONLY team they’ve NEVER
defeated in title matches! Heck, the
only time they beat us was when…”
Chamelion stops
and chuckles nervously, and Michael allows a sharp smile to cross his face, “Yes, when you turned on
me back in 2000! Thanks for the
reminder, Brother.”
“Hey now!” Chamelion begins, then stops, before
continuing, “Well, what can I say, I’m a
devious asshole.”
“That much is certain.” Quips
Michael.
Laughing,
Chamelion pats his brother on the back, “Anyway! It makes sense that they’d want a chance at
the tag gold here in the BWF, but to get them they have to go through the
Krymson Dragons. A feat they’ve yet to
accomplish. In a fair fight, they don’t
stand a chance…. Turning… bad.. as
they seemed to have done……..”
“Won’t make a damned bit of difference.” Michael declares.
“Well, yeah, that’s true.” Chamelion
smirks, “And Monday they have to go through
Murphy and Ghost first. Did you see how
Sirus referred to Ghost as the owner of the BWF?”
“I did. He’s a few
weeks behind the times.”
“Too much time in that basement of his, the cobwebs have
gone to his head.” Chamelion
smiles, “But he’ll catch up soon
enough. So, they’ll fight. I for one, hope the Grimms do pull it
off. No offense to Ghost or Murphy, but
we need to face the Grimms at the PPV.
It’s what they call destiny!”
“Don’t get tacky, brother.”
“Whatever!” Chamelion frowns, “The point is, there is no other
way for this to play out. Besides, we’ll
be at ringside doing commentary, and have the best seat in the house to see how
this all plays out.”
“Agreed. So we’re in agreement
on our plan?” Michael asks.
“Definitely! Shall we go see how
the ladies are doing then?”
Michael nods
silently, as they turn and head back towards the front of the house.
