To get around Great Britain presents no insuperable problem to the enterprising traveller . You just have to be a little patient, and not too picky about where you want to go. Book your seat on the soon-to-be-obsolete Connex-Flyer; remember to confirm it at half-hourly intervals, admire the irregular bumpity -bump of the train wheels as it speeds along the pitted and rotting track., change at Didcot onto a coach which will drive you to a goods train yard outside Swindon, take the 3:14 a.m., clinging-to-the-buffers service to Littlehampton until you're derailed just beyond Hartlepool, then ask.
