My sister, Misty, gave me the best birthday present ever: A chance to see Lea Salonga in the "Flower Drum Song" on October 19, 2001. Lea Salonga has been my favorite performer ever since she sang "A Whole New World" as Princess Jasmine... and I was finally going to see her in person.
A dream come true!
I saw the show and I loved it. When Lea first appeared on stage, I nearly cried. Her voice is pure and flawless and the other performers were awesome as well. I am so thankful that I had a chance to see this show. It was absolutely hilarious, entertaining and breathtaking.
After the show, I met Lea Salonga. I couldn't believe it! She was very gracious and down-to-earth to her fans who swarmed to meet her. Misty and I were so shy to approach her. I barely got the nerve and timidly asked her to autograph my Miss Saigon OLC recording. Lea also posed with Misty and I to take a picture. I have that picture framed. =) THANK YOU, LEA!
