The Story
The story begins with an evil spirit, Aksha, that has sworn revenge on the four gods and Taiitsukun. She has half-animal half-human servants she has created out of innocent victims that serve her unconditionally. Nit, Kokuyou, Myuna, and others bow to her as their mistress. Aksha is determined to outdo the recently defeated Tenkou, and will stop at nothing to suceed. Meanwhile, Miaka is pulled back into the Universe of the Four Gods that is in Taka's apartment. Taka soon follows, then Yui, then Tetsuya. Taka is captured by Nit and several other flying lizard-men, and is held captive while Miaka is hunted down. Miaka finds herself on Mt. Reikaku, with Tasuki and Kouji, Tasuki of which is enjoying his release from seishi duties and being a bandit. They take Miaka back to the stronghold, and are attacked in the dark by other flying creatures, returning from capturing the now unconcious Taka. A young bandit newbie, Emeric, jumps into the battle, and is badly hurt along with Tasuki. As they heal their wounds, and Emeric tries to keep his secret, Nit comes in full human form to collect MIaka and take her back. Being responsible for Tasuki's injuries herself, she is eager to finish the job. Emeric reveals to Miaka he is a she, a girl posing as a boy to be a bandit and to run from her family who tried to marry her off to an old perverted man out to get the secret of the family wonder medicine. She had taken on her brother's name and dressed like a boy when the Mt. Reikaku bandits attacked the entrouge she was traveling with. Miaka urges her to tell Kouji and Tasuki the truth, but Emeric refuses and instead dresses as her female self, Koura. She attracts the attention of Kouji along with Nit. As Nit tries to find out where Miaka is, Aksha grows impatient and goes for her herself. She rides in on a black dragon of her own creation, and takes Miaka by force, injuring Tasuki further. As she rides away, she puts a curse on Nit. The curse entails that Nit remain human until a moon phase. Then she will regain her true form and stay that way for a day and night, then turn back. Also, Nit remembers how she came to be Aksha's servant. The memories tramatize her, and she curls into a ball while Tasuki and Kouji try to get her to talk. Tasuki passes out in a chair after showing Nit, now Myla, who's boss. Koura takes some of the wonder medicine, which includes snake venom and a powerful aphrodisicac. She tries to get in bed with Kouji, but before it is actually done, the medicine wears off. Koura continues trying to get Kouji in bed, because she finds that she's in love with him. They spend the night together. In the morning, Nit has decided to be called Reina, since she isn't Nit or Myla anymore, and Tasuki wakes up healed by some of Koura's medicine. Koura's brother Hana shows up, and is promptly kicked out by Tasuki and Kouji. He swears revenge, and leaves. That morning, Mt. Reikaku is destroyed by a major unnatural earthquake and is besieghed by Aksha's monsters. They take most of the bandits, and try to kill Tasuki, Kouji, Kora, Chichiri, and Tama, who has joined the group. After a large battle, they leave Mt. Reikaku to find Aksha and get Miaka back.
While all this is going on, Yui sees Taka being kidnapped and tries to save him. She accidentally runs into a brothel, and is held there unconcious until Amiboshi saves her. They head off to an inn where Yui dons normal peasant clothing and they begin to travel on Amiboshi's horse. Tetsuya comes into Taka's apartment, after thinking Yui stood him up for a movie. He sees the Universe of the Four Gods, and falls asleep near it. He is sucked in, and finds Yui and Amiboshi. He joins up with them, while Nakago up in the afterlife, comes down and takes over the body of the man who hurt Yui in the brothel. He chases the small group down, and reveals who he is. They start to travel towards a tavern, trying to figure out what's happened to Taka and Miaka. |
