Tekko
Used as modern knuckle-dusters, tekko were
usually spoked for additional damage.
Although a close-combat weapon, the tekko
can be very dangerous in the hands of an experienced fighter.
Kama
Originally a tool used for harvesting, the kama can also be a dangerous weapon.
Tonfa
The tonfa is a piece of wooden block with a handle perpendicular
to the longer surface of the block.
Originally a tool used for pounding, it can be used as an extension
of a punch, swung by its handle, or used to trip your opponent.
Can be used to block weapons of certain destructive strength.
Sai
The sai is a very versatile weapon that can be used used for stabbing
as well as hitting.
It can also be used to intercept and break a sword with its arms.
Rochin & Tinbe
The rochin & tinbe is more of a counter-attack weapon.
After blocking or deflecting an attack with the tinbe, the fighter
can use the rochin to stab his opponent.
The tinbe can also be used to block the opponent's view during an
attack.
Nunchaku
Made famous by Bruce Lee in his movies, this powerful weapon is banned
in some countries.
Usually a 2-piece weapon, some are made in 3 pieces.
Kusari-Gama
The kusari-gama is a small sickle with a long
thin chain. It can cut enemy, or tangle enemy's limbs.
It is also used to disarm by tangling the
enemy's weapon with the chain. Though it requires some training, it has
long reach.
The word kusari means "chain,'' and gama means
"sickle.''
The manriki-gusari ( also known as Fundo-Gusari
) has a weight instead of sickle.
Though the weight is not so heavy, it can
have a large amount of kinetic energy by swinging rapidly.
