Malice Mizer was formed by co-founders Mana and Kozi
in August 1992.
Malice Mizer stands for "malicious misery", which
the band termed it as "human nature".
Their concept of " What is human ? " derives from
evil ( malice ) and tragedy ( misery ).
The members of the band have made it a point to create
their own music, and not to imitate any other artistes or bands.
Their music comprises of a wide variety of styles,
mainly classical Baroque music, French pop, gothic music and techno music.
The 1st Generation Drummer, Gaz, left malice Mizer
to join another band called Knueklid Romance in 15 March 1993.
Malice Mizer thus recruited Kami, the drummer from
Knueklid Romance.
The 1st Generation Vocalist of Malice Mizer was Tetsu,
who has a rather high-pitched voice.
However, Tetsu did not like performing on stage, and
thus left Malice Mizer on 27 December 1994 ( He's
now in another band called Zigzo ).
Only after almost a year did the band managed to find
themselves another vocalist.
On 10 October 1995, Gackt was officially the 2nd Generation
Vocalist of Malice Mizer.
However, Gackt did not behave like a new member. He
was like one of the founders of Malice Mizer itself.
Gackt has his own musical concepts and theories, and
his unique music style inspired Malice Mizer.
In fact, it was Gackt who tranformed Malice Mizer
and brought Malice Mizer to fame.
Gackt later left Malice Mizer in 1999 to pursue a
solo career.
Soon after Gackt left the band, another tragedy struck
Malice Mizer.
The drummer of the band, Kami died from Subarachnoid
Hemorrhage on 21 June 1999.
Malice Mizer then released Kami
Memorial Box ~ Shinwa, a mini-album and video, in memory of their
good friend Kami.
Malice Mizer was thus left with only 3 members : Mana,
Kozi and Yu~ki.
Even so, they came up with several wonderful works,
such as Saikai no Chi no Bara
& Kyomu no Naka de no Yugi.
Later, Malice Mizer recruited
Klaha as a session vocalist for Shiroi Hada
ni Kuruai to Kanashimi no Rondo.
Their latest album, Bara no
Seido, proved to be their best, if not, one of their best works
yet.
In 23 August 2000, Malice Mizer officially accepted
Klaha as their new vocalist.
Formerly from the band Pride Of Mind, Klaha has a
deep and powerful voice.
Malice Mizer is thus reborn.
