History of Dir en Grey

Formally known as La Sadies, the members consisted of Kyo, Kaoru, Die, Shinya & Kisaki  ( He is now the leader of Mirage ).

La Sadies broke up when Kisaki left the band in February 1997.
The rest of the band felt that they needed a new bassist, thus they recruited Toshiya from Deathmask.
Dir en Grey was then formed in March 1997.
Produced by Yoshiki from X-Japan, they named themselves Dir en Grey, which actually means "Grey Coin" in 3 different languages.
( Dir = German, en = French, Grey = English )

Members are : Kyo ( vocal ), Kaoru ( Guitar ), Die ( Guitar ), Shinya ( Drums ) & Toshiya ( Bass ).

The lyrics of their songs are mostly written by Kyo, while the music is composed by the other members of the band, but usually it is Kaoru.
Lovers of J-ROCK should not miss out Dir en Grey !!!
