The Road To Ris!

Ris Armor

Ok, folks. Enough is enough. This is a compilation of over 400 posts on the armorsmithing forums. I would try to give credit to all the sources, but it's too huge. Most the screenshots already have them. I will actually try to keep this in a particular order.

First off, the quest:

Quest language screenshot:

You will find the questgiver @ -6806 6022 on Dantooine, by the rebel base in the far NW Corner. You must be a Master Armorsmith to even get the guy to talk to you (he's a bothan, go figure). He will require 50k credits to give you a schematic for a segment. (OOC- Segments are the halfway point in armor, layers are put into segments, segments into armor).

For the segment you need:

160 Titanium Aluminum

160 Chanlon Intrusive Ore

75 Rori Fiberplast

1 Woolymander Bone Fragment

1 Gurk King Hide

Ris Segment Schematic: Same Schematic Different View:

YOU WILL LOSE THE SEGMENT! You need to give it to the snotty greedy Bothan in order to obtain the layer schematic.

LAYER:

135 polysteel copper

85 Laboi mineral crystal crystalline gemstone

100 oridium intrusive ore

1 peko peko albatross feather

Note: After you finish the quest, you can use any layers you want in the final product.

After you complete this, yep, that greedy Bothan Trog wants it , and gives you a boot schematic

BOOTS:

Note: Don't layer the boot, cause , you guessed it, that greedy bothan is goona keep it! In return he gives you the rest of the schematics.

50 vedusii crystal amorphous gemstone

75 known solid petrochemical fuel

65 talusian fiberplast

50 chromium aluminum

40 platinite copper

30 rori wooly hide

1 ris armor segment

1 synthetic cloth

1 giant dune kimogilia scale

Hunting Guide:

Disclaimer : Much of this is hearsay, I only pulled what seemed the most reliable, with hard facts to back it up. All rare items are drops, not harvested, so loot! They look like resource containers, and have no stats, and aren't stackable.

1) Woolymander Harrower Bone Fragments- found as a static spawn on yavin4, at the temple @ 477, -616. A poor bastid by the name of Ronian camped it for 3 days solid, so this is all from him. There are 2 harrowers that spawn at a time, they are the only wollymanders that will drop bones. They are on a 1 hour 5 min timer precisely.

While waiting, you can loot the boxes (even locked ones). They are on a 2 hour timer, and contain many different skill tapes!! (ps if you use this guide and find any armorsmith tapes, tip them to me!) A common bug in the temple is corpses falling into the walls. A work around is ctrl+shift+; which pulls up your target history. Select loot from radial and voila!

2) Recluse Gurk King Hide- Lok, just north of the volcano. The king will spawn from random (non-mission) lairs. Some believe they spawn only from nests, not rocks or thickets. Another says if the lair has 2 feral gurks, it'll spawn a king 100% of the time. (ooc- for those that didn't know, the way to tell if something is someone's mission or not, is to look at the title. If it says " a bocatt's lair" its a mission. If its just "a warren" or " a pile of rocks" etc its a naturally occuring random spawn). They also say DON'T tap the lair or you'll drown. After you clear the first, they'll start repawning without tapping. One fella says he made the mistake of tapping, and wound up with 30 gurks on him. There are 2 static spawns, but I only found coords of one. @ 700, -3300 (gurk king hut) The hut is 9300m south of town or 3k meters west of the imperial outpost, just before you hit the Corsair Camp (pirate base). I've been told all static spawns are listed at allakhazam's.

3) Peko Peko Abatross Feather- Naboo. Best reports say, on the highway between Kadaara and Theed. Also west of Keren, north of the lake. I personally have seen huge spawns of giant pekos, southwest of Lake Retreat. Many said they saw the albatross hanging with giant pekos.

4) Giant Dune Kimogilia Scale - Lok, just north of the volcano. Look for "pile of bones" nests.

All in all, I highly recommend you become really cozy with a master ranger, or at least a ranger with area/direction track!

If you find this guide to be highly editorialized, well, I just spent 12 hours of my life (God, what was I thinking!) reading literally over 400 threads. I will say what I want, it's my thread dammit!

Hope you find this somewhat useful. Also, if the stats seem weird in the various screenshots, it's because the stats shift. Every time you cross a server boundary, take a shuttle, log in and out, sneeze, or blink, they will change vulnerabilities. Just like tantel and shields. That's what makes it currently worthless. Krayt enhanced ubese can be made 80% kinetic, without the shifting headache, and only vulnerable to stun, for faaar cheaper. Composite has much higher base resists, for a fraction of the cost.
