Ankoku
Daemon screamed in agony, his voice filling the woods, making the birds scatter. His voice was raw and hoarse; every movement he made was in agony. As the raw shrill scream echoed through the woods Nyoku dropped the firewood he had been collecting and ran toward the sound stopping slowly as he reached a young man, a Drake doubled over in pain in a clearing. Slowly he looked up, black hair in his eyes, down his face. His wings were torn and his body bloody. Immediately he shrank away from him, pulling back into a painful ball. Nyoku walked over to him kneeling down on the wet ground.
"Can I help you in anyway?"
Tears welled up in his eyes and he pulled away, "Please don't hurt me." He cried, "Please, I beg of you."
He smiled sweetly hoping not to scare him anymore than he was. "I won’t harm you. If you would like I could take care of those wounds though"
He swallowed hard, "Please, please help me; don't let him find me, please." He begged, grabbing onto the hem of his shirt.
"It will be ok little one. I'll protect you. Do you mind if I pick you up? Or can you walk on your own?"
He looked worried, afraid to incur his wrath, "I-I can't move."
Nyoku raised his body off the ground gently, carefully avoiding his wings. "Is this alright?" He nodded slowly and leaned his head against his shoulder, body shaking slightly from pain, "I'm going to fly you to my home don't fall asleep on me…what's your name?"
He bit his lip and looked at him, "D-Daemon..."
"Okay Daemon, but try to stay awake, I don't want you going into shock" His crimson wings bring him easily into the air with the Drake, "I’m Nyoku pleased to meet you.”
Daemon nodded, trying to keep his eyes open but his body didn't want to, soon he found his eyes closing, his body shaking slightly then going limp. Nyoku stopped and tried to shake him gently awake again. When it didn't work he sped towards his house as fast as his wings could carry him. He prayed to the gods to let the boy live long enough for him to arrive. As the little shack he called home came into view he became hopeful. Nyoku landed and hurried quickly inside to set Daemon gently down on the bed, wings up. A low groan escaped his lips, one of pain, signaling that he was still alive although he didn't awaken. Blood flowed steadily from the various wounds, deep red, staining everything with it's crimson color. He looked over his wings analyzing the wounds and cursing. A bright light glowed in his hands as he called on his powers to close the wounds, stop the flow of blood, the wound still remained. Nyoku moved hastily through his shelves gathering supplies for healing and bandaging. He applied them quickly and sat in one of the wooden chairs next to the bed.
‘The only way he’ll survive is to come out of this shock.’ Daemon stirred slightly, shuddering in pain.
A low whimper escaped his lips, "Ikari, please, no more, please."
His eyes widen in surprise not expecting him to move or speak for that matter. If this Ikari owned Daemon he wouldn't be able to do anything, he knew that, but it didn't stop him from imagining breaking every bone in his body. Pets weren't meant as play-things. They weren’t meant to be toys, abused so much they break and are thrown to the side. That’s what had happened to this young Drake. He continued to listen to the words escaping Daemon’s lips through the night, every word a slap in the face.
"Ikari, please, please no more." He whimpered then whispered in a hushed voice, "Run, run away, run away."
"You were right to run, right to leave, it's all right now" Nyoku crooned to the unconscious boy hoping his words will help him through his nightmare. Daemon stirred slightly at the break of day, his body throbbing as he slowly opened wide forest green eyes. Nyoku looked over at him from his kitchen, "You're alive I knew you'd get through it." He walked over to the chair by his bed "How do you feel Daemon?"
"It hurts..."
"Your wings?" He sat in the chair, concern etched on his face.
"My wings, my back, my..." He trailed off, not wanting to say it.
Nyoku nodded in understanding "You don't need to tell me. I understand. Your wings will heal perfectly if you give them a few more hours." Drakes healed incredibly quickly. He nodded and looked down, "I may be able to heal your back too, what injured it?"
He bit his lip, "Whip and claws." He whispered, "I disobeyed."
"I understand, although I don't approve." Nyoku looked over the scabbed, ugly, wounds he nearly touched one. Tiny black spark shocked his hand. "Black magic…"
He nodded, "My master is an expert in many forms of magic."
Nyoku swallowed hard. "I can heal them, but it will be painful and I won't be able to remove the magic from them until my Master returns."
Daemon shook his head, "Please no more pain."
"Okay, no more pain. Would you like something to eat Daemon?"
His eyes grew wide, "Food?"
"Yes food, although I admit I'm not a great cook."
He nodded and a small smile spread across his face, "Yes, please."
"Your Master doesn't feed you either I'm guessing." Nyoku walked slowly into his kitchen to begin one of his best stews.
"H-He feeds me when I'm good." He whispered.
"I see." Nyoku stated calmly. Little flames of anger flitted around his body as he put a pot on the stove heating the water to a boil.
Absently he began to pick dried blood out of his hair, as if trying to look is best. The fairy looked back at him, turned down the heat to the stove plopping the freshly chopped carrots and potatoes into the pot. Nyoku held out a brush and a bowl of cool water to Daemon.
He smiled slightly, "Thank you sir." He whispered before working on his hair.
He smiled back at him, "You're welcome young one, if you need anything else just ask okay." He returned to the kitchen briefly to check on his stew.
He nodded, "Thank you sir."
"Don't call me 'Sir' it makes me feel old." He chuckled light-heartedly and ladled the stew into a bowl to hand it to Daemon, "Careful, it’s hot"
He took it slowly, with great reverence before blowing on it, "What should I call you then sir?"
Nyoku chuckled again, "Just call me Nyoku." He sat back in the chair smiling at him.
He slowly took a bite, purring in happiness, "Thank you sir...I mean Nyoku."
Nyoku laughed happy he liked it, "You are very welcome Daemon." He waited for him to finish the stew and took his bowl to the sink to begin washing it. Nyoku looked back over his shoulder, "After I clean this I’d like to take a look at your wings, see if they are getting better is that okay?"
He nodded, not wanting to refuse him. He finished with the bowl and sauntered back over to the bed unraveling the bandages to reveal healthy wings, only a few ugly scabs remained.
He whimpered, "They ache."
"As soon as they heal you will have to stretch them so they will not ache any more." Nyoku let them fold against his back. Daemon shook his head but didn't argue. His actions saying he didn't want to stretch them, didn't want to hurt, "You will need to wait until your whole body is healed before you do so don't worry there won't be much pain Daemon. And I'll be here to help you through it." He smiled brightly at him.
He bowed his head, "I-I should go, I don't want anyone to get hurt." He said softly.
Nyoku’s eyes hardened resembling golden orbs instead of real eyes as he stated deeply, "I may look weak Daemon but I can protect you."
He looked down, "My master will come..."
"Let him come." The fairy smiled as he whispered in a singsong croon.
His eyes grew wide, “I can't let you risk yourself." He said, getting to his feet.
A shield appeared over the door, "You will stay here until you heal Daemon, you don't deserve to be treated like this."
He turned to look at him, "I have to go."
He refused to look at him not willing to show him the anger and pain in his eyes, "You may go when you are healed, I'm going to protect you."
He slumped to his knees, "So I'm a prisoner here as well?"
"Not a prisoner, a victim healing."
His eyes flashed with anger, "There isn't a difference!" He spat.
"Anger isn't going to get you anywhere little one, but if you wish you can rant as much as you want. But it doesn't change the fact that the shield isn't coming down until you are whole again."
He slammed his hand against the shield, "No! I will not be kept." He began to cry, falling to his knees.
"Would you rather go back to him? Have him find you and probably kill you for running from him?"
"He won't kill me." He whispered.
"Then nearly kill you, there is no difference."
"He won't kill me." He whispered.
"Then nearly kill you, there is no difference.” Daemon cried, tears streaming down his face, "If you'd rather go back to that tell me now I'll release this shield; but I will protect you, never harm you, care about you if you wish to stay.”
Daemon sobbed, "I don't know."
"Stay until you are healed, for another day and then decide." Nyoku stated calmly to him trying to help with his voice. He sighed softly and bowed his head, "And if you'd like I'll stay in another room.”
He shook his head, "I don't care.”
"I don't either, I won't touch you.”
He shuddered slightly, "This is your place, stay."
A few hours later Nyoku dozed slightly watching the Drake out of the corner of his eye. Daemon slunk slowly out of bed. He had to find a way out and the best way to do it would be to seduce his captor. Without a sound he walked over and slid his hands over Nyoku's face.
This startled him a bit, he jumped, "What are you doing Daemon?" Without a word he put a finger to his lips before sliding his hands down his sides. Nyoku's voice got deeper, "Daemon stop, this won't help anything. It will only cause problems." Slowly he leaned forward and kissed him, putting all of his skill into it. Nyoku forced himself to submit to the kiss and pulled back when there was a break in it, "Daemon I don't want you like this.” Daemon forced another kiss on him, straddling his waist, eyes glowing faintly. The fairy squirmed and created a link to his mind, Daemon Stop!
He ground his hips against his, trying to drown out the command. Nyoku’s body took control of his mind, shifting to kiss at the drake’s neck. Easily he licked and nibbled on his ear, "Take the shield down." He whispered.
A look of confusion spread across his face for a moment before he complied. Softly he kissed him, grinding their hips together a final time before stalking out of the room. Nyoku sat panting slightly. His mind returning to him bit by bit, as soon as he realized what he had just done he let out a screech of frustration. The scent of his own magic floated across the room and out the door. The residue on Daemon’s wings would be enough of a trail to follow. Daemon ran through the trees, careful of his wings, only to run headlong into Ikari. Nyoku pulled on his traveling clothes as swiftly as he could, knowing what could happen if he didn’t hurry. He was too late.
Daemon immediately fell to his knees, kissing Ikari's boots, "I'm so sorry master, I swear I'll never run again, please don't hurt me."
Ikari growled softly, "You should be begging for your punishment slave, not for me to cease." He said, grabbing his hair, "I smell someone else on you, how dare you." He snarled.
Nyoku flew swiftly over the trees concentrating hard on the scent of his magic, "Don't touch him!" Nyoku roared at the Drake holding Daemon up by his hair after his crash landing.
Ikari's eyes narrowed, "Don't tell me what to do fairy boy, leave now." He snarled, jerking Daemon close.
"I’m going to tell you again; don’t touch him." A large ball of raw power formed in his hand.
Ikari summoned his own ball of black energy in reply. Ikari raised an eyebrow, "Don't be foolish." He threw Daemon against a tree, rendering him unconscious, "I'll deal with my pet after I deal with you."
"It won't ever land, you bastard." Nyoku’s eyes shifted from Daemon to Ikari as he expanded the ball. Nyoku hurled it at the Drake.
Ikari growled angrily and threw his energy, "How dare you!"
Nyoku vanished right before the ball could hit him, the trees exploded and crashed through the forest as it continued its course. Ikari snarled and lunged for his pet. Ikari was merely inches away from having Daemon again as Nyoku reappeared and scooped the unconscious Daemon into his arms before disappearing with him.
"Damn you fae!"
Nyoku gently settled Daemon on the soft ground to heal the bleeding wound at the boy's temple. He gently shook the boy back into consciousness "Daemon wake up…"
Daemon groaned and woke up slowly, "Master, where is he?"
"He's miles from here, he can’t find us."
Daemon looked alarmed, "He'll kill you!"
"I'm like a cockroach Daemon, you can't kill me easily." He sat back on his heels.
