City State

Ruler: High Priest Sanders of the Temple of the

Elements

Government Type: Theocracy

Currently: Named after Cor's landing point when he first step foot on Cordia,

the small village quickly grew up as the main focal of religion on Cordia. It is

said that during the first winter upon Cordia, the Gods of the Elements caused a

well that provided heat, water and food to the colonists. Today the Temple of

the Elements stands on this spot and its priest control the city below. The High

Priest maintain a tight control over the people of Cor's Landing and what

temples can be built there. Gods like Inara are not even allowed a temple

(rumours say there is a hidden one) in what many consider to be the Holy City

of the Continent.

Every year, pilgrims make the long journey to bathe in the four

Elements within the main temple of the city. This includes a fire that does not

burn but yet burns away the old skin, water that refreshes, soil whose mere

touch takes away hunger and nourishes one self and air that clears out the lungs.

In fact, the city main income comes from pilgrims.

Since the Trade War of 887 Cor's Landing is increasing on bad

terms with Freehaven. Many believe that it is was Cor's Landing that instigated

the Trade War. The main thrust of anger is what the High Priest of Cor's

Landing considers to be the corruption that is rampant in Freehaven. This fact

is reflected as the Temple of the Elements in Freehaven is poor excuse for a

shack. Other would say that the High Priest would like to see more profit from

pilgrims. Whatever is the case, the High Priests of the Elements are always

looking for ways to lessen the power of Freehaven.
