The Guild tradition was when a child was taken at the age of 7 and had to be an apprentice of his master. This tradition is similar from 21st century because like today people go to college and know what we are going to be in the future and strive towards our goal. That is the majority though. For example people who want to be doctors work hard to go to medical school.
There are many differences though. People in the guild tradition were forced to do what they had to do. They didn�t have a choice of being what ever they wanted to be. Over here we always here the phrase, �You can be whatever you want to be.� We pick careers we are interested in. In the guild system you didn�t have a choice. Also over here we study in all subjects until we get to college. But even in college we study other subject. In the guild tradition you would just have to study and learn in one subject.
