Tying Directions:
- Attach eyes to the top of the hook using figure eight wraps and superglue.
- Tie in a zonker strip long enough to reach the eye. This will be the shell
of the crawdad.
- Tie in a strip long enough to be wrapped around the shank several times.
Make sure the strip is long enough though or you might run out. Better to
have too much than too little. Wrap the strip around the eyes and tie off.
- Fold the first strip that was tied on over the wrapped body and tie off at
the eye.
- Finish the head and apply superglue or head cement for durability.
- Trim all the fur off the shell back except for a little piece that will be
the whiskers. Then slick the hair of the body to the side of the hook it’s
on.
- Trim the body in a tapered shape ¾ of the way up. The last ¼ will serve
as the claws.
Notes:
The rabbit hair will wiggle around just like all the little legs on a live
crayfish. The bunny-strip crayfish is designed to be fished in slow moving water
on a short leader and sinking line.
