  3. Trim butt end, and wrap back to tie in point.
  4. Tie in a length of Holographic Tinsel.
  5. Wrap to bend of hook and back to tie in point.
  6. Select a small bunch of Squirrel Tail, and even tips in a stacker.
  7. Cut about 12 strands of Peacock Krystal Flash about the same length and put in with Squirrel Tail.
  8. Hold over shank, extending to bend of hook. Tie in and trim butt ends.
  9. Whip finish and cement thread wraps.
  10. When dry, tie in Kevlar thread.
  11. Select a bunch of deer hair, even in a stacker, and cut butt ends even.
  12. Put on top of shank, tips extending length of hook.
  13. Make two loose wraps around hair and shank. Make a third wrap and flare hair out.
  14. Whip finish and trim thread.
  15. Shape head with a double edge razor blade, and cement head.

Notes:

I tie this fly with 2 types of thread. I use 6/0 Uni-Thread for the Tail, Body and Wing, and Kevlar thread for the head. I like using Kevlar to spin the deer hair, but it is tricky to work with when forming the body and wings. The Uni-Thread makes for a better looking body, and is much easier to work with.
