4. John Monroe Grimes, son of Sara A. Scrogins and Monroe Grimes, was born 2-Feb-1851 in Mississippi. He married 25-Nov-1873 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to Miss Indiana A. Partin, daughter of Lucinda "Lucy" W. Lilly and John M. Partin. Indiana was born 21-May-1856 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. She died 8-Jan-1929 in Nacogdoches County, Texas; and, is buried in the Old North Church Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas.
Oral Family history indicates John and Indiana Partin Grimes moved to Sabine Co., Texas and Indiana became very ill during pregnancy, her Father John M. Partin went all the way to Sabine Co., in a "dogcart" and brought her back home to Nacogdoches County, Texas, where she later died along with the child.
John died 23-Sep-1926 in Nacogdoches County, Texas; and, is buried in the Old North Church Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas.
