Alpheus "Alvis" Sanderson Moore, (possibly the son of Mrs. Claricy Moore, born ca. 1799 in Tennessee), was born 17 April 1825 in Alabama; and, died 3 April 1913 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  He is buried in Pine Knot Cemetery, located between Etoile and Chireno in Nacogdoches County, Texas.   Alpheus Sanderson Moore married 1st. Laura Louisa Jane Alvis on 18 January 1854 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  

Laura Louisa Jane Alvis, daughter of Elizabeth Aiken and William C. Alvis, was born ca. 1837 in Tennessee, and she died before December, 1866 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  It is not known if she is buried in Pine Knot Cemetery or elswhere.

Alvis married 2nd Mrs. Sarah J. Saunders Colter on 20 December 1866 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.   Sarah Jane Saunders Colter Moore was born 17 April 1836 and died 21 May 1923 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  She was buried in the Pine Knot Cemetery beside her husband.  She recieved Confederate Pension # 25916 and Confederate Mortuary Warrant # 6338.

Alvis is listed in the 1857, 1861 and 1862 Tax List of Nacogdoches County; and the 1864 Relief List; and the 1867 Voters Registration of the County.  He is listed in the 1880 Census of Nacogdoches County and in the 1890 Census of Nacogdoches County in Indian Creek Beat.

He served in the Confederate States Army in Co. A., 11th Texas Infantry.  He enlisted on 28 May 1862 and was discharged in Hempstead, Texas on 18 May 1865.  Alvis recieved Confederate Pension # 12076.

James C. Moore, son of Laura Louisa Jan Alvis and Alpheus "Alvis" Sanderson Moore, was born ca. 1857 in Texas. He married Louisa J. Barron, daughter of Phebe Barbour\Barber and Samuel B. Barron, on 15 June 1880 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.   Louisa was born ca. 1858 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.

James appears in the home of his parents at age 3 in the 1860 Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas.  Neither James or Louisa appear in the 1900 Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas but, in the home of James's father Alvis there is a Grand-daughter named Alice Pienolepe Moore, who may be the daughter of Louisa J. Barron and James C. Moore, but not proven.  They are living next door to Allie & Drayton Lambert.
