BIOGRAPHY The oneman band featuring Hvalnir as the only member started out in 1997 inpired by the music of bands like Darkthrone, Ildjarn, Torgeist and Von. The inspiration of these bands were of course mostly musical as fars as lyrics goes Hvalnir once stated "the raping of my land is inspirational enough". The lyrics is written in a way that anyone with open eyes can understand what Hvalnir, being a proud patriot, sings about. The first tape came out in June 1998 carrying the name "Kallet". It has five intense tracks with none reaching the three minute mark and riffs that lives more on primitive brutality rather than technicality. The tape was released in 50 copies and the layout was obeying the DIY spirit with simply xeroxed covers. Despite the primitive coverart the tape became popular among patriots with a taste for rougher music and sure enough after a not too long period of time the tape sold out... In 1999 a second tape was released. This tape was simply called "Kämpfe" and here seven tracks were presented. An interesting fact is that these songs were recorded at the same sessions as the songs on the first tape. Hvalnir did not want songs with Swedish lyrics to mixed with the songs that held English lyrics and therefore he just waited with the release of these songs that held English lyrics. This tape was made in the DIY spirit just like the other tape and the songs were short and intensive jsut like the first tape but this tape never took off like the first and it took almost a year for the 50 copies to be sould out... In 2001 the third tape was released under the name "Arischer Kampf" and this time there was a more professional feel all over the music but the covers were just like always badly xeroxed pieces of paper. The releasing and distribution of this tape was handled by PTDR. The music was however more worked through on this tape and this time Hvalnir decided to get a nice production and a real mixing but this actually worked against the Hvalnir in reviews as the listeners did not like like polished sound at all. In 2002 the band changed it´s name to Pagan Manifest and a 4 song demo was recorded at Cursed Cloud Studio. On this demo the sound was in the same style as it was on the early Kämpfe tapes. Hvalnir also have a band called Poënarii but since i am not interested in this side project you will get no info about it here.
