UP TO THE EVENT
Kaela was a smiling face and a perfect person. If you were having a bad day, she could make you laugh so quick you wouldn't remember ever being mad. She was a popular girl. I knew her for four years. She was a loved person. She was great in every class, and even got first chair in her band class, playing the flute. But she didn't get to enjoy it. February 5, 2004 Kaela wasn't in school, but no one was overly concerned because she was like every teenager and misses school sometimes. She had a cold the day before so we thought she was sick. At about 7:00 Thursday night, I got a call from Carlee (Another of Kaela's close friends) crying hysterically. I asked her what was wrong and she told me Kaela had died.
SILENT DEATH Wendsday night, the power had been out in Kaela's home. I had called her about 7:30 on Wed. and she was saying she was bored, and only had her cell phone to keep her happy. Her dad hooked a gas generator to the TV, and they got TV. But they did not open any windows or doors, to ventalate. Later in the night they all passed out. In the morning, they were all gone, including the 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a chinchilla. Carbon Monoxide entered their system and killed them. Many people say they're relived that they died in their sleep, unknowing, than rather having to know they were dying, like if they were in a car accident. |
