From last year's caving and water falls bathing ... it's time to try for other activities and those are "HIKING IN SAGADA" and "SAGADA WILD HORSE HUNTING". Well, we did not actually hunt horses but we went exploring them in the wilds.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
In the midst of the Cordillera mountains in the Northwestern Philippines lies a small enchanting town called SAGADA. A place known for its rice terraces, hanging coffins and a milieu of other breathtaking sceneries , SAGADA offers an ideal haven to its inhabitants and a taste of "Shangri-la" to intrepid enough visitors.
TRAVEL NOTES/TIPS:
The most common way to get to Sagada is by land. So if you don't have your private vehicle, taking the bus is the only way to go. SAGADA can be reached from either Baguio or Banaue (via Bontoc) by small mini buses and jeepneys - non-airconditioned, often over-crowded. Banaue to Sagada is like 4-5 hours while Baguio to Sagada is like 6 hours. From Manila, Baguio destination is quite common while for Banaue, you can ride Auto Bus Transport at Sampaloc or Dangwa Transport at Dimasalang
Accommodations in SAGADA are simple and very cheap (from P100 up). You can try the following: Sagada Igorot Inn, Ganduyan Inn, Green House, St. Joseph's Resthouse (where we stayed), Masferre Inn, Country Inn and Mapiya-aw Pension House.
