| Mt. Maculot |
| OUR TALES: Dayclimb has really a big difference from that of an overnight climb since we don't have to carry big backpacks and so that makes climbing lot easier and more fun. But just a thought, did this change affect the pacing of the group? Well ... better ask our sweeper. DESCRIPTION: We can say that Maculot Peak is the most commercialized mountain we have ever climbed. Along the trail itself, you can already buy refreshing buko juice to quench your thurst. At the camp site, you can buy series of food stuff including halu-halo, ice-cold softdrinks and ulat at kanin. Whatever you ask for, you can find there ... right at Tata Ed's Store. It was not more like a survivor type of climb after seing how commercialized Maculot is. But when we saw the awesome view up to the rockies ... WOW! What a majestic and splendid view - the real beauty of GOD's creation! Ascent was not that hard so we decided to traverse the mountain to explore the other side. We weren't wrong since we found the descent on the other side more challenging and adventurous. There we had to do some rapelling plus we had chance to pass by and visit the cross/grotto up the hill. OUR GALLERY: Among all the picture takings we had for each and every climb we had, this is probably the most exciting because the great view of the rockies. |
