Reviews for "The South Crawley Kids"
The character development is great... Your writing has great clarity too, you definitely have a gift for storytelling. I absolutely loved the book when I read it... I feel honored to have read the advanced copy! Cant wait to read it again and actually hold the book in my hands. -Bobbi Smith Very imaginative and interesting! - Mishia What an amazing world youve built between America and Scotland. These characters feel alive with all their quirks, weaknesses and strengths... -Cathy Hubbard I read 15 chapters of it and realized I hadnt done a thing all day except read your story... it was that good. You captured the characters perfectly, it was so easy to keep track of whos who (sometimes when there are lots of characters it is hard to keep up with them) but I had no problem, I felt like I knew each of them. Your imagination is fantastic. -Nancy, web administrator Im addicted to this story, its so good. I love all the characters and the way you portray them. -Megan Kennebrew I loved The South Crawley Kids! I really liked Pandora, Jagger and Kyler. -Jani Kellogg " I really enjoyed it. It was filled with suspense, romance, and adventure and it kept you thinking, all of which I enjoy." -Maggie "I only read the beginning but was so tempted to read the rest when I was sent it all. I couldn't because it was so good that I decided to buy it then read it and not to spoil the fun of having a new book. You might think that since I only read that small part I don't know about the book but trust me, it has to be worth every cent! Congratulations Kendra and Rebekah!"- Paris "Great story! When you read this, be sure to look for the subtle hints of what's to come. I loved the little romances throughout the story! I had to force myself to put this down from time to time & read it slowly. Enjoy!"- Yudinni on Amazon.com "SCK is a very good book and I recomend it to anyone! This book was so good I couldn't put it down for one second without wanting to read more. It's a real page turner. The plot was well developed and the characters were so realistic. Sophie on Amazon.com And from the Green Bay Gazette, on July 16th, this was a review from Jean Peerenboom: Jean Peerenboom column: Whitelaw author makes debut Meet the South Crawley Kids. There's Pandora, Kyler, Jagger, Jacen, Heath and Babbit and they make their first appearance in Manitowoc County author Kendra Saunders' new book "The South Crawley Kids" (Infinity, $14.95). In this fantasy thriller debut, the kids are all that's left of a secret town called South Crawley after the town was attacked one snowy morning. Those who escaped scattered until one day years later when they started to track each other down through mental telepathy. It is fast-paced with plenty of action and romance to hold readers' attention. Saunders had help with the writing and publishing from her friend Rebekah Brown, who attends college in Florida. Saunders, 20, has been writing since she was 6 and tells the story of a day in first grade when everyone was asked to dress up to portray what they wanted to be when they grew up. She wore a little dress and carried her dad's briefcase. When questioned, she said, "I'm going to be an author." Today, she carries a big, black bag with a binder full of papers. She makes notes whenever and wherever ideas strike her. "The characters usually come to me first," she said. "I saw Pandora and Jagger first and they stuck with me through many drafts of this book," which she started in late 2002. She had the idea of Pandora as a child and could see a town being destroyed and people who had mind powers. She worked backwards from there to develop the story. She has finished a second Crawley Kids book and has an outline for a third. The book is available through www.amazon.com, www.buy booksontheweb.com or Tweedle Bros Bookstore in Manitowoc. Autographed copies are available by writing to Kendra Saunders, 108 E. Menasha Ave., Whitelaw, WI 54247. More information is available at www.geocities.com/southcrawleykids. "Such an intriguing story... it makes for a fascinating read. It was a lovely book and I'm anxiously waiting for 'SCK 2, The Story Continues' ... or I can start reading from page one again until you finish the next one ... hahaha!"- Lhily, Australia "It truely is THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! & I have read TONS of books!!! I don't like action, adventure novels, and SCK was my first ( I into romance novels) and SCK has changed my opinion for the better! This book has a little of everything: Action, Adventure, Suspense, Fantasy, and Romance. It is also appropriate for all ages. "South Crawley" is IMPOSSIBLE to put down! The day I received my copy I stayed up until 3:30AM reading it! It is quite the page turner. I love how there are many different characters and they all have unique abilities and personalities. My favorite characters are Alex, Pandora (Dori) and Jagger (who was inspired by country singer Keith Urban!) Once you have finished reading this fantastic book, you will be left with wanting MORE! I am very much looking forward to "South Crawley Kids 2!" Way to go Kendra & Rebekah, 2 thumbs up!!!" - Kensy on Amazon
