KaCiWoof's Poems

these are some of kaciwoof's poems

The Survivor A Mountain side of fire and debris was all that remained of the once soaring plane As rescue crews circled through one question remained did anybody not die on everyone's mind this haunting question was main As one said they were all dead out of the wreckage a hand reached to defy Struggling slowly one drew up and faced the mighty wind Though it was tough, and the wind was rough he knew he must onward go The sand in the torrent tore at his face, he knew the wounds would mend. Forward his feet slowly went no matter how fast the wind did blow Memories of things gone by were the only image his crazed mind could lend The memories of those happy days ago when he had it all that was plain to show Why was he the only to survive that horrible crash why from the destruction was only he sent Tears dwelled in his eyes of all he had lost why did he have to pay the cost For memories of his family now his haunted life and appeared in dreams Back and forth those pictures his mind did toss as his legs weakened at the loss Lying there again without the strength to carry on his life fell away, or so it seems The courage lit like fire in his face knowing he must go on for their sake His leg strength grew, his mind with only one point soon became clear He must live to protect the family members left behind no matter what it did take His mind soon kicked into high gear first of all to get rid of all his fear Scrambling quickly up the hill he couldn't believe what his eyes did make As he saw the city far below, his previous location the fire drew near He ran toward the city as his skin slowly the superheated air did bake The memories of hours ago his brain did sear The getaway to the mountains had been in the wait The plane for the trip was a dream or so it did seem First an engine went then the pilot struggled regain control but it was too late The mountain came too fast in the landing beam The only survivor of the horrible crash he had to go on despite the pain Now years from that day he walked away Visions of the crash haunted his brain He had gone on for his family that day Standing there with all the families whose to whom there focus was main He just away looked never knowing what to say They stood there were the memorial had been lain Never to forget they came as they may His memory said just one thing long ago he had decided to go on despite life's test No matter what the future did bring He went on when he could of laid down with the rest.
