RENATO P. DRAGON (1937- )
Recipient of the award “Par Excellence’ given by the
Jaycees of the Philippines in 1979, Renato P. Dragon, 47, a businessman and
banker, was born in General Trias, Cavite, on February 10, 1937. he was married
to Clarita Santiago Pimentel, by whom he has six children, only one of whom is
a boy.
Dragon finished the elementary grades in the General
Trias Elementary School, and the secondary course in the Tanza high School,
1951-1954, obtaining first honorable mention. He then went on the University of
the Philippines, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, major in
public administration. He rounded up his college education in the state
university with a BSC degree, major in business administration.
His business and banking experience includes the
following: 1) research assistant, graduate School of Public administration,
University of the Philippines, 1959-1960; 2) credit investigator, Manila
Banking Corporation, 1961; 3) chief clerk, ditto, 1962; 4) chief, credit
department, ditto, 1963; 5) branch manager, ditto, 1964-1965; 6)
consultant on business administration, D.J. Buencamino & Associates,
1966-1967; 7) assistant to the vice president, Manila banking Corporation,
1967-1969; and 8) president, Royal savings bank, 1971-1982.
He is affiliated with many associations of
professionals and businessman, and has won several awards, including the “most
Outstanding in Trade, Industry and Tourism” award for 1984, given by the
association of National Agencies in Cavite (ANAC).
