"Kabila has died because he said no to the white man."

Why did I choose the moniker Kabila68??? What is the ΓέΛ~Kabila connection??? Why all the eyeballs and references to them on your pages??? Surprisingly I don't get these questions much at all!!! Well, heres a page to answer all those questions that never get asked!!!

Starting back even before I was online, I took on the moniker "Eyeball", because, as a machinist, thats how I end up doing a lot of my work, by eye. My wife got me a personalized plate, it was going to say "EYE BALL" on it, but that was already taken, so I ended up with "AYE BALL", which not only gets the idea across, but also reflects my nautical heritage. I also got myself a tattoo of my own design, a flaming eyeball.

Starting in 1999, I began my forays online. First chat community I joined, (Freetown, a kinda crappy HTML based interface that required you to manually refresh the pages, and surprisingly enough is now defunct), I attempted to sign in as "eye", but that name was already in use. I attempted using "aye", and was able to do so. From that point forward, that was my identity online. I proceeded from there to Powwow, a very cool chat interface with a robot synthesized voice, which was at the time provided by Tribal Voice, but now is available resurrected by Jazy. I made many friends, and even traveled to Wisconsin for a get-together with several of the people in my adopted room, Bubbas Adult Chat.

Sometime in late 2000 or early 2001, Powwow was shut down and many of the regulars decided to move to Yahoo Chat. Of course, there are already hundreds of Eyes and Ayes on Yahoo. Just the day I was signing up, I had read in the newspaper about the assassination of Laurent Kabila, the President of Democratic Republic of Congo. I was fascinated by the story, and how there was much confusion and rumor and speculation regarding who did the killing and if Kabila was alive or dead. It reminded me more than a little of the killing of Tupac Shakur. I have tons of text about his killing and the shroud of confusion surrounding it that I was collecting with thoughts of putting on a page describing my choice of name, but I think that would just make for a long, boring page. If your really interested, do a google search on him.

However, there is one line I found that I knew I had to put on here:

"The white man is very bad. They don't want blacks to progress," said Vital Nutedika, 35, one of thousands of Congolese who stood outside in the glaring sun Monday to pass by Kabila's casket. "Kabila has died because he said no to the white man."

Oh yea, if you came to this page to find out what's really up with me, not just how I came up with Kabila and ΓέΛ, check out my blog here, that is provided I keep it updated!!!
