Things to do on the Island
While primarily a "Summer Retreat" (May-October) Mackinac Island actually has a lot going for it 365 days a year.  Start with historic Fort Mackinac, constructed by the British during the American Revolution, the Fort is fully reconstructed with its 14 original buildings.

Hiking and bicycling on Mackinac are great exercise and a group activity. Bring your bike or rent one for about $5.00 and hour.

Horses are plentiful and available for saddle or carriage.  Look for the more than one dozen "Somewhere in Time" markers around the island and be sure to buy or rent the DVD when you want to relax.

The old town is very unique with numerous fudge shops, shopping and excellent restaurants that can keep you occupied until the evening when live entertainment starts in the pubs.
