                                                       Fin Finale

I should be studying for my art final right now. I'm not. But I should be. Today is the last day of finals, its my last night in Edinburgh (well not technically, but far as I'm concerned, its my last day in this city) and I am nearly finished with this mess known as AUIP. Yahoo!!! Lets see...I smoked my history final. Not as good as Brenda, mind, but the second highest score in class, yahoo!! Not bad! And since I have an A on 80% of the class and a B+++ on the remaining 20...that means I have an A in that course. Yahoo, score one for the stupid-flippin-americans.  As for archaeology....yeah...well I haven't gotten my paper back and thats the only grade in that class...and I doubt I got more than a B, but she understands that we're "not here to study really..." (those are her words not mine) and I can only hope she'll be generous.  I took my politics this morning. Only two questions I had no idea on, which is good, the rest were a combination of bullsmithing and sucking up, so we'll see how it goes. But I got a really high B on my essay and that is encouraging.  So now all that remains is the Art History Of Pain, Suffering, Death, and Knowledge We Don't Have.  Yes, thats all one title.

I want to complain for just a moment here. (Big surprise eh?) Anyway...remind me on this one, please. When I'm a teacher, please remind me to provide my students with explicit details regarding what I expect on an essay, and if I'm teaching students who have no flippin clue about the nuances of my particular field (for example, historians cite using Chicago instead of MLA) then I should tell them BEFORE the assignments are due and if I dont, I should NOT remove letter grades for such (trivial) mistakes.
Also, I will not test on information that is not covered and above the knowledge level of my students.  Finally, I will not bill my class as in introduction and then expect senior level knowledge and work from my very beginning level students. This I swear.

I have the coolest boots ever now. Lindsey and I finally sucked it up and bought our souviners from Edinburgh. They are the least expensive (and coolest I might add) of these shoes that I've seen here, and I'm thrilled. They're LINK BOOTS!! Yay!! I've been doing my Link dance the entire way from the store to the computer lab, and I'm likely to do it the whole way home, across Ireland, through Europe, and right on home to my front door. Because they are the coolest boots ever. Lindseys are black and mine are sand colored, well..camel really. Sand. Camel. Desert. Its all the same. They're suede with neat buckles all over them...they're almost pirate boots, in fact they would be if they weren't so very Link. Yahoo!! What?!! You don't know what Link boots are?!?! (gasp) atrocious. Like my spelling, only worse. I put pictures of the boots on here. Well...more like Link and his boots....but you get the idea.

Ok then, now that I'm over my link fascination (yeah right) I'll move on to something more interesting.  We got our tickets for the travels and adventuring through Europe yesterday, and that was the most excited I've been since...well, since my plane touched down in London. Then, this morning, I read that Madrid's train station was bombed. Hmm. I wonder if that's going to cause some problems. Probably. I'll have to look into this. Darn. But ye-eah.  Lindsey and I are leaving for Ireland with the rest of the crew tomorrow, bright and early. And I do mean early...like four am, to make our 5:15 train. Yikes. But hey, it'll be good for us, right? And its Ireland, totally worth it, right? RIGHT?! lol.

Yeah I'm a little hyper. I went to Chocolate Soup today-- my going away-thank heavens finals are over-and now I need caffiene and sugar and toastie goodness-present to myself. mmmm....they do make good toasted sandwiches over here. Glorified grilled cheeses of yummy proportions. And Jo-- Thanks again for the Chocolate Soup suggestion. Excellent idea. I shall sell Chocolate Soup at the Coffee Llama on my return. This is what happenes when we lock cass in a basement and only let her out to drink sugar and play on the 'net. hehe.

Nothing profound for me I guess. I was hoping to have a piece of beautiful poetry for Edinburgh to post as a farewell, but alas, I dont have one yet. So...um...I'll see what I can come up with later today and maybe I'll add it. For now, I'm done and I hope I made you laugh at least a little. As for me, I'm off to do my Link dance and fail my Art exam. Cheers!!!
