Appropriate Smileys, Certain Lacking Emails
Hokay, so. MSN still doesn't work. AIM still doesn't work. Netscape doesn't work. Yahoo works as long as I don't expect it to deliver any of my messages. But I can watch all the Flash videos I want. Explain that one to me! I went to the ResNet help desk today with my laptop, under the impression they would fix Netscape for me. They failed. But this is not a surprise really, given their stellar abilities thus far. No one can explain why I am the ONLY person who cannot access MSN at the moment, but that's how it currently stands. And I can get this pagebuilder to work (knock on wood!!) so that just defies all kinds of things. Grrr. I think I shall resort to piracy and pilfering if I can't get things working soon. arrrgh. Why is the rum gone? heh
I also started experimenting with another journaling program called LiveJournal. I'm not sure which one I like better yet, I'm so conflicted. This one is much cooler but its also a mega pain in my arse to update sometimes...and LiveJournal has better picture controls (this one will shut down if too many people look at big pictures) and gives me more space for writing, which sometimes (like today) is a much needed extra. Hmmm...well for now I'll keep it here and I'll be sure to give everyone LOTS of warning should that change.
You know, I bet this is coming across as very hostile. Apparently, since I've arrived in London and through my journey here, I've been on a mission to "prove something". I'm assuming this comment is directed to my challanges of professors and housing and such...and I suppose thats a well founded observation. I'm not sure its really an issue of proving anything though...the comments about Warrior Cass and such are (usually) amusing and satirical in nature. After all, if I can't laugh at myself about these situations, I think I'd lose it and be locked away in one of the loony bins they still have over here. Anyway, my sincerest apologies to all of you for the hostility and content of recent entries, I shall try to temper them with other emotions.
I'm particularly distressed at the reactions from the entry of a few nights ago- apparently the common reaction was, "Goo, Cass! That was depressing! I wanted to poke myself in the eye with a fork and sob like a small child under my desk!" (That was a mishmash of actual reactions, cleverly blended to disguise identity except to those who said it. Ha!) Anyway. As I commented to Lindsey earlier today, I'm a little distressed that I seem to illicet only negative emotions in people. That's a powerful tool, but I think it would represent a greater gift and purpose if I could bring about emotions of awe, joy, inspiration, and love as well. So that will be my new goal, I will try to better represent emotions other than sorrow and dispair, because I'm really not a naturally depressed person I promise.
Mmmm, I love Nutella. I want that on the books right now please. Its so gooey and chocolatey and compatible. Its important for things to be compatible. And I love Cher, with her great hair. Especially when she cracks her whip and taunts, "Follow that, you bitches!" Yeah! Power! Strength! Ego! Pride! Hubris! Vocabulary! I love it. Whoops, there I go being all defensive and posturing again...sorry. I can't help it sometimes.
So! The photo! You can see my fabulous new coat now...I really do love it. So pretty and classy and so very Cass. (though I'm none of those things) Mahhhvelous.
