And now, a Blog:
Politics is survivable, but just barely bearable.

I am not a fan of the Scottish Royal Museum. Why? Because they have two giant fountains in the entry way. Yep, giant fountains. Filled with North American Catfish and giant colored Goldfish. Need I say more?! I didn't think so.

Actually, there was some cool stuff today. I think I scored some bonus points during the art lecture, because I know that one can identify saints in carvings and paintings based on what is depicted with them (yahoo religious ed!) but I had no idea who the two we looked at today were. Ah well. There were some fascinating collections, but we skipped right past all the stuff I wanted to look at- Greek vases, Wedgewood, etc. so I'll have to go back on my own time...if I can get past the damnded goldfish!!! There is a fabulous clock I want to examine closer as well. Its called the Millenium Clock, and its animated in four different levels. Each level operates a particular sound mechanism, and so as they each begin to go off, the sound builds into a full orchestra. I think Jesse said it was Bach, but I don't know what the music really ways. At any rate, there were fascinating sculptures and things on the clock I want a closer look at, so I'll have to head back there eventually. *shudders* damn fish.

Moving on...I found my jacket today, oh jubulations!! Its gorgeous too- its a cream color with a light pink satin lining and a hood lightly trimmed with faux fur in a light goldish color.  It goes to about mid thigh, and is really snappy looking. The best part- it was origionally 200 pounds (remember, thats $400) and because there is a tiny tiny tear in the lining along a seam of the arm (which I've already repaired, invisibly) I got it for 15 pounds. Fabulous!! Major triumph of the day!

On the way we were attacked by a huge flock of pigeons though. They were peacefully cleaning the crumbs of god knows what from a courtyard when something scared them and they wheeled up into the air in a giant ark and swooped down over us, then back up and around to settle on the rooftops around the square.  Once we recovered from this shock (and realized we miraculously didn't get pooed on), we stood there laughing. Mistake! The birds began literally dive bombing us. I'm sure it was hysterical to watch from the outside, and its pretty funny now...but I didnt think so at the time!!

Unfortunately, Yahoo! Messenger and associated coharts in crime (namely the damned proxy server on the ResNet) are incurring my wrath. I can't seem to get messenger running for more than thirty seconds, which is making several key conversations extraordinarily difficult.  Bastards. But hopefully I can figure my way around this...I'm crafty. I'm also hostile, but oh well.

Tomorrow we have dinner at Doctor Collins's house, that should be an interesting experience. I know that my politics professor and archaeology professor will be there, but my art professor has been called away again for the weekend. I think the literature lawyer lady shall be there as well.  Should be an interesting evening. Jamison is ill, so I vacated the room where everyone is enjoying Simpsons...the last thing I need is to get sick, knocks on wood!

Anyway, nothing too exciting to report at the moment, but I'll be sure to change this if that changes as well. Toodles.
