Great Big Sea at the Long Island Maritime Museum
July 13, 2001 (cont'd)
Somewhere before General Taylor, Sean was bothered by a stage light shining in his eyes. You can see it in the picture there. He is asking if someone could please turn it off so he could see.

General Taylo
r- This is the other song I dont sing. Seans voice was strong and wonderful. Bob was singing the usual harmony for the most part and switched up a little in the middle to skirt around Alans harmonies.  And we had "a bloody great barrell for the Great Big Sea band" extra verse!

Some where in here, may have been right after GT, Im not sure since my notes are jumbled, Alan actually DID lead the congregation in a verse from the Peace is Flowing Like A River
Lukey not sure if Lukey was here, but it was in the set.

Everything Shines a little more singing by San here than there is on the CD.
Somewhere in here Alan kept pumping his fist in the air and trying to get everyone to yell "hey" He did it many times and Sean made a comment he like to play" Simon Says" and that he tries to do that in the van too. But "you don't have to do what he says."

Old Brown's Daughter They were absolutely the most adorable picture here! Every one of them stood at the mic with his hands in his pockets like little boys! It was too cute! Alan spoke of love and politics and how they dont mix. Made the song out to be a political Romeo and Juliet. Had San shaking his head and I think Bob commented something funny here too. Youd think Id have been able to pay attention when Bob speaks, but I was in shock I think.

Somewhere around here a certain chatter who was standing next to me stage Alan and will remain nameless, decided that she was not in the attire she wanted to wear. (I had moved so Karen could take Bob pics). She dropped down to the grass beside me and I was afraid she had fainted, but I saw her taking her dress off! Wide-eyed, I watched as she peeled it off down to her underwear and then proceeded to rummage thru her backpack for clothes.  Alan was wide-eyed too as he blushed beet red then turned to San, who went bug-eyed and turned to Bob who looked out to his left. Have no idea what Darrells reaction was as I was laughing my head off at the other three. Such gentlemen! After the quick change, said chatter was back on her feet dancing the night away.
Jack Hinks Very dancey, everyone was happily playing. Didnt miss Bobs sitting down this time.  Sean was very dancey this evening.

Mari Mac
Sean started with the unusual, announcing that he supposed it was time to announce impending  wedding nuptials. Everyone snapped to attention and looked wide-eyed at him. He stood there grinning for a few seconds and then said matter-of-factly, "because Mari Mac's mother's making Mari Mac marry me." After laughing, we all answered back My mothers making me marry Mari Mac.   three times because he kept singing it and then looking devilishly at Alan who was waiting to start. Bob was shaking his head since he was poised to start several times. Then he said to Alan, I guess we should start now? Then BAM!

Tunes - (I think it went here but I can't be sure) a brandly new one! Parts of Feller From Fortune I recognized along with something else I have heard Shanneyganock do but I dont remember the name of the tune. Nice, but its not Auntie Mary.

Ordinary Day I am always sad to hear this song lately since it means they are at the end of the set. It is my all time GBS favorite my philosophy of life, if you will.

Encore
Excursion 'Round the Bay -  It seemed as though Alan had to do very little prompting of the audience to do the arm in the air thing. Now I argue this was in the set and Tunes was an encore, but other people say otherwise.
