Keiko's Ordinal Life
My thought in my daily life.
Entry for April 24, 2007

I am so tired.

I'm fed up with my teaching job at a junior high school.

Why people tend to escape from their own responsibilities but force others to have them?

Teachers in Japan have to owe too much responsibilities. In my case, I'm a part time teacher, and I don't get any extra-money, garantee, or protection by goverment, but I have to work longer than my duty.

But, it's not only my case, I tell you. Most teachers work too much. Some of them were killed by overwork. We call "overworked death" "karou-shi"in Japanese.

To my surprise, one of my German friends knew this word even she didn't know hello or thank you in Japanese.

I noticed that "karou-shi" is a quite Japanese type of death. Don't they have "overworked death" so much in European countries? I don't know... I hope not.

Why should we work to death? Don't we work for our life?

Anyway, I don't like my job, so I'll try to change my job. I will have an exam to get a licence of the customs agent. I'd like to work at an import company which trades with Germany. This company imports and sells paint which is good for health and environment. I'm interested in ecology, that's why I'd like to work there.

That's my modest dream, I hope it will come true. Do my best...

I hope your dream comes true. Yes, people work too much. For example both parents are always working and the children are at day care or school. Sometimes it seems like a machine making money, rather than a family of love and intelligence.
