You walk along the red carpet. Many people stare at you wearing
toga the same as yours. You wait for your turn ask your other schoolmates
for being called on to the stage to receive their precious diploma.
Your turn arrived. You stood up and proudly approached the stage
to receive your degree. Your parents suddenly cried with a big smile
on their lips. Then, you suddenly thought of something. It is about
the days you spent at school. Then, one thing came to your mind,
"Is being able to graduate the ultimate measure of your tuition
fees worth?" This is the question not only to be answered by
those who finished college. It is to be answered by all of us.
You were then reminiscing about the times when you cut classes,
failed exams, copied answers from your seatmates, etc. You also
remembered the times you slept in front of your professor while
he was lecturing. You did all of these, but still you were able
to pass your subjects. After a moment of reminiscing, you were bum
for about two months. You're at home, doing nothing. You're already
getting used to the daily routine of eat-sleep. Then, your parents
suddenly tell you, "Get a job! Prove your tuition fees worth."
You looked suitable jobs for you at the classified ads. You're already
desperate. You started posting your resume on the internet. You
waited for the reply, but there was none. You stood up on your feet,
you walked in and out of companies but you still can't get your
desired position. The only position vacant is for a data encoder.
You still go for it just to get a job. You're a data encoder, and
you graduated with a degree in marketing at one of the top five
prestigious schools in the country.
You were already one year in that position. You're already thinking
again of the times you've spent at school. You were thinking and
asking yourself, "What went wrong? Is it me, or is it the teacher?"
Then you uttered to yourself, wiping tears away from your eyes,
"I should have done better. I have wasted my parents' treasure
to me." Now, don't ask me to answer this one for you. Ask this
question to yourself and ponder on it.
