GANDALF THE GREY/ GANDALF THE WHITE: Istari and Immortal being, sent by the powers at be to come to Middle-Earth and help its people to ban together and destroy Sauron. He had many names in the centuries he lived in Middle-Earth (Mithrandir, The Grey Pilgrim, Stormcrow and White Rider) but his orginal name, given to him long ago, was Olorin. He did not take much pleasure for himself while living in Middle-Earth, but he did adore the company of Hobbits. He had a special attachment to Bilbo and Frodo. He eventually returned to Valinor (After Sauron's destruction) and he took both of them with him, along with Shadowfax; the Lord of all Horses. |
