Elrond, Half Elven: Lord of Rivendell (son of Elwing and Earendil, Twin brother of Elros who chose to become a king of men and mortal)He is one of the wisest and oldest elves of Middle-Earth. Greatly loved and adored by many. Holder of one of the three rings: Vilya. Husband to Celebrian and father of Arwen, Foster father of Aragorn. He is torn with grief, when his beloved daughter chooses to forsake her immortality and remain in Middle-Earth with the one she loves, insuring her a mortal's death. In the books, but not seen in the movies, he had twin sons, Elrohir and Elladan. They also chose to remain in Middle-Earth and to become mortal. |
