BILBO BAGGINS: Hobbit of the Shire and owner of Bag End. Elf Friend, and Ringbearer, and writer of There and Back again, a Hobbits tale. His story began long before the Fellowship, when he chose to accompany a band of Dwarves to destroy a dragon. Along his journey, he not only proved his worth, but also acclaimed the gift that would hold the fate of Middle-earth. He found and took the One Ring from Gollum in the Misty Mountains and after his quest returned to the Shire with it. He eventually, at the age of 111, left Bag End to stay with the elves. He left all of his posessions, including his Ring, into Frodo's keep. He eventually passed over the sea with the elves, Frodo and Gandalf. |
