Rover Meeting Minutes:
April 21st,
2005:
Old Business:
- Trip to Mike’s billiards was a success. Bryan still
sucks at pool.
New Business:
- Camphost – April 30-1.
- Attendees:
- BYOM Saturday
- Menu = normal
- Look for ideas for projects
- Camp Gardener Project
- Plan to build during summer
- Ask Lions for money?
- Darcy and Skinners are involved and/or closely
associated
- Family camp = first weekend of June
- Potlock Saturday
- Sunday = group provides breakfast
- Rally = Saturday before Family camp
- Activity for 1st Wednesday of May (4th)
- Splash ß
Book it tomorrow, book 4
- Summer Trip:
- Accommodations = trailer/motorhome and tent if
required
- Have 8 confirmed, 9-10 maybe
- Pete is booking campsights: $30 per site per night
- Price drops slightly to ~$500pp plus SCUBA
- SCUBA rentals:
- Rent in town
- Tanks at location
- Approach aquasport as a group
- Places to stay:
- Friday: Harold Provincial Park, or Don’s cabin
- Sat-Sun: Porpoise Bay Provincial park
- Mon-Tues: Saltery Bay (by Mermaid)
- Wed-Thurs: Miracle Beach (Courtenay)
- Fri: Goldstream (Victoria)
- Late Ferry Sat Night, stay at Hope Cultus Lake
- No boat dive
- Gear:
- Bring own camping stuff (dishes, sleeping bag,
foamie, mug)
- SCUBA stuff
- Other entertainment items
Sept 20, 2005:
Old Business:
- Dive trip was a success
- Non-divers = $300
- Divers = $300 + tanks
- Backpacking was a success
- Family camp was a success
- Rally was a success
- Splash went well
- Camp Gardener project didn’t happen (yet…)
New Business:
- We are all mostly registered
- Elections:

- Looks like we’re in
- Four groups have joined (us, monteray, rundle and

- Camphost: November 18-20
- Will have to send in a crew to do trees
- Attending: Dom, Greg?, Bryan, Tim, Bob (Saturday
night), Ross (work?), Adam?
- Trees:
- Trees coming in on 19th or 20th
(same weekend as camphost)
- Next weekend (26th) is setup at
Monterey
- Sales start on the 30th
- Off lot by the 23rd (take down
included)
- We’re sharing the Monterey lot with Monterey group
- Will be doing shifts at Monterey and Franklin
Mall
- Darcy will send around a time sheet, e-mail him
with best dates if need specific times
- New group: fundraising shares are 1:1:1 (group:section:individual)
- Outstanding bingo funds
- Issues seem to be resolved, but any checks need to
be approved by the gaming commission
- Need to put in a formal request, with outline of
what funds are for:
- Training, educational, kept in Alberta
- i.e. gardener project, camps with a purpose
- need to sign a form opening up our finances
- document gardener project
- talk to Tim Skinner for advice
- Acceptable amount is ~$2000
- Bottle drives in our future?
- BP banquet in February???
- Thinking of setting up a equipment call list – people
will know what each group has, and who to contact for “rental”
- Cookie race – Feb 25th
- Camp host project
- Will get a firm plan and design in place for the
bridges
- Check into augers, etc
- Cook shelter is also an option
- Next camphost – complete plan and measurements and
schematics
