Our rooms and gear are booked. But there is good news and bad:
Good: SCUBA rentals were not a problem - having the diving on the weekend was a concern as they may have been running a class. But fate smiled upon us and we happened to go the one weekend they don't have a course.
Bad: I had to guestimate your weight belt weights. But I asked for extra weight so we should be OK.
Good: The inn is under new management, and costs have dropped. It's $10/night, plus $10 per key (we'll only need 2 or 3).
Bad: The inn office closes at 8, so we have to leave Calgary damned early (like 5AM). Guess we could always "camp out" at Ryan's so we'd all be together first thing in the morning...
Bad-ish: Inn only accepts cash - no checks or credit. Oh well... Bryan
Also, it has come to my attention that we are running out of planning time. Simply, I'm gone from April 10 to the 15th, and the Dales leave for Hawaii about the same time I come back. So we need to finalize our plans ASAP. As such I'm calling a meeting, next Wednesday (April 2), location/time TBA.
Here's what's left to do:
1) Transportation. Renting a van is out so we have to figure something else out.
2) Food. Should make a menu. Also, because we are more constrained time wise on this trip we have to shop before we leave Calgary.
3) Schedule. As you may recall we have to check in by 8 PM BC time. Which means we either have to leave bloody early on the May 1, or do 2 days of driving.
4) Dive sites. We don't have to have them all planned, but at the very least we should make a list of the ones we want to do.
5) Those of us not going to Hawaii should get in one more splash before the trip. We should schedule one ASAP.
