All, Sorry for the delay in the minutes. The meeting basically entailed what we are going to do with the scouts for the next month. Firstly there is a camp scheduled for the 4-6 of October, this will be a pioneering style camp, and anyone who wants to come is welcome. The location is still under a little debate but should be firm on the first business meeting (September the 10, which means full uniform if attending).
Here is the scout's itinerary.
October 10 - Business meeting, Go over the structure of a business meeting - What is expected of Uniform and such - Court of honour - The roles of PL and APL - Go over the overall plan for the year, this is done by Ryan, have kids input and do a quick survey - Prep for shelter making the next week, basic knots and lashings, this mean bring some rope, we are not actually doing the shelters on this day. - I'm thinking we could play ultimate frisbee, weather permitting
October 17 - Badge Work Section - Shelters and other structures that can be built in a pioneering fasion, this is led by Bryan, again can everyone bring their ropes and sticks. - Hurricane lanterns, this is done by Tim, they will be allowed to use only things they make on this camp, so this will be their flashlight. - Game - Game Called Sleeping Indian (I have rules) - Elephant Role ( I have the rules for this as well)
October 24 - Badge Work Section - Survival Skills Done by me, Signals, Water (Demonstration) etc - First Aid Training (Whoever else is there) - Game - Kids Choice 1 - Business meeting (Uniform) - Inspection etc. - Badge Work Section - Survival Kits, what should go in them (Ryan) - Making fire starters (Ryan) - Game - Kids Choice
If you guys aren't doing anything, please come and lend your support. We need all the help we can get.
On un-scout related things, we have 2 camp hosts booked October 18,19,20 and November 29,30,1
If anybody is interested in doing some diving, please let someone else know. We were thinking maybe late September. As well for thinking far in advance, we need to think about supertrip this year, and People have to go to AJ with the scouts. Just somthing to think about.
