Tuesday June 4th we are taking the Scouts on a bike trip to the
airport. We're leaving the school at 6PM. If you can make
it please
show up, as the more the merrier.
Next Tuesday (June 11th) is the groups end of the year bash. 6:30
or 7PM
at the fish hatchery. WEAR YOUR UNIFORM!!!!!!!! Hot-dogs
and juice will
be provided.
Next Wednesday evening (June 12th) we are having our year
end bash/cultural event/going on a holiday party. Not sure when
or
where, but it'll probably be around 6:30 or 7, and probably at a "local"
of the "Irish persuasion".
Group comitee was on the 3rd. if you weren't at the
group you'll have to contact Pete (or
Beth?) about getting your registration filled out. If you are
planning
on registering as a leader you'll have to go through the Police check
thing, which isn't too bad. However, if you register as a leader
you MUST help
out with the Scouts or another non-rover section (no slackers need
apply).
Just a reminder that our SCUBA trip is two weeks away. We have gotten
our $$$ from group, but keep in mind that you'll have to cover some
of
the trip out of your own pocket (the exact amount will depend on what's
in your personal account). All reservations are made, the menu
is
nearly complete, so we're almost ready to go. What we do need
is for a
couple of people to volunteer to do the shopping. We also need
to
decide when we're gong to leave. We should be leaving early,
7AM or so...
Don't forget your C-Card, logbook and personal SCUBA equipment. You'll
need the c-card and log to rent equipment, and our rentals do not
include the personal equipment. You'll also need a day pack and
hiking
boots for our non-SCUBA days. Maybe bring a football, cards,
board game
or whatever for the SI times. For those of you who are planning
on
doing the night dive don't forget your light and some glo-sticks.
Our
dive flag is prepped and ready-to-go, complete with a brand-new, high
tech, dive reel (courtesy of my incredible engineering and construction
skills). It still needs a bath, but I'll take care of that tonight.
Five of us are taking our PADI advanced this weekend.
