| Christina Aguilera was born in Staten Island, New York on December 18, 1980. Her mother was a violinist and her father was in the military so they moved to lots of places including Japan!! She was on Star Search when she was only 8 singing the Reba MacEntire hit 'A Sunday Kind of Love.' When she was 12 she sang the National Anthem for the Pittsburg Steelers football game. She was also on The New Mickey Mouse Club for 2 years with lots of todays great talents like JC and Justin from *NSYNC, Britney Spears, and Keri Russel. She recorded 'Reflection' from Disneys Mulan which won her a record deal with BMG and that is how she has come to be the Diva she is today. She has been busy lately. She released her debut album December 1999 and she has already won her first Grammy for New Female Artist of the Year in 2000 and she won the Fox Billboard Award 2000 for Female Artist of the Year. Not including the endless list of other awards she has taken home. She has had 5 hits so far including Genie in a Bottle, What a Girl Wants (Remix), I Turn to You, and Come on Over Baby (All I Want is You), and Lady Marmalade not including any #1 hits Internationally, and she has no signs of slowing down with the release of her spanish album (Mi Reflejo), which debuted at #1 on the Latin Pop Charts and has set the record for being at #1 for 27 weeks straight going platinum in Latin America and selling over 650, 000 copies in America.. Her Christmas album (My Kind of Christmas) is also doing very well I'm sure we will be seeing a lot of Christina for a long time to come. |
