Internet Use Survey
How often and in what ways do you use the Internet in your other classes? Do you find articles, access databases, download graphics and multimedia files, or surf pages related to your topic of research?
- Do you use the Net for other classes? If so, which are they? Describe the course and how you used the Net for whatever assignment or project. Be specific.
=> I surf pages to find information for my projects and classes. Also, when I research a project as a team, our teammates meet at a cyber-cafe on the Net. And, the core classes in my major usually use the Net as a subclassroom. For example, in my class " Educational Philosophy", we take quizes through the Internet. Also, in the other class " Educational Administration", the professor uploads the teaching materials to the cyber-classroom on the Net, and the students print and use them in the class.
- How helpful was the Net? Was it more useful than if you had used conventional means, e.g., finding books and periodicals in the library?
=> I can find information more easily at home through the Net. Of course, the conventional means are sometimes more useful than the Net when I am researching subjects that are hard to find on the Net. But I like the classes that use cyber-classrooms because in the classroom, I can communicate with the professor more easily and use the teaching materials anytime.
- Would it help if core classes in your major, or general education classes at Ewha were online?
=> I think if core classes in my major and general education classes are online (it means that we study only at home), I will not study harder than now. But if those classes use the online class as a supporting class for the course like cyber campus at Ewha, that will help students study more conveniently.
- Would you like to see other English or other language courses online? If so, what would they be?
=> Yes, I think online language courses are helpful for learning languages. Actually, we are using the language not only in real life but also on the Net. It will help language learners practice the languages. As we are taking this course, language learners might learn the language through the Internet. For example, I, as a language learner studyng Japanese, can learn how to make a website in Japanese.
