Peacock Royal

The Peacock Royal belongs to a rare group of butterflies, the Royals. Some of the species from this group are extremely rare. These butterflies usually grace the canopy of the forests.

I was extremely lucky to have this specimen, though heavily damaged, turn up in my terrace.
