The Thief
He swept in and stole your innocence
Like a coward without any conscience
Like a thief in the night
He hid behind your fright
Each day you die a bit at a time
The death of wonder is his crime
Steel your heart cos it don't seem to end
Inside you bleed and cry out for a friend
Love seems a joke and hope seems so hollow
Your heart grows numb the body will follow
Daddy's mistake and mommy's regret
You're the one they'd rather forget
He sweeps in and steals your innocence
Like a coward without any conscience
Like a thief in the night
He hides behind your fright
So what the hell? It's a victimless crime!
Must be ok, it happens all of the time
Each night you try to wash it away
And who are you to stop him anyway?
