I am truly amazed at how much K9WebWorld has grown in the past years.
Lloyd and I enjoy doing the newsletter as much as our members enjoy getting them.  One of our favorites is the sharing of "dog tales" - how the dog in your life has changed your life.  These pictures are a testiment to how much the love a dog can change your life.
Warmest hugs,
Bonnie
I have a red short hair dachshund named Duncan.
He is my grand dog!  He will be 8 years old in May.
Duncan, who we also call the "Boootiful" Boofa and "Boo"
(he answers to all 3 names) is my absolute pride and joy.
When my daughter first got him, he and I absolutely hated
each other!  I was not a dog lover.  When she got transferred to
Texas and then to Washington, DC, he came to live with me.
We had no choice but to learn to get along.  I said he could not
get on my furniture (he does!)  I said he could NEVER sleep
in my bed (he does!) and he has taken over my household.
He never forgets his mommy- when she comes home to visit,
he goes totally crazy running around in circles.....He thinks he
is human- if I eat or anyone eats- he becomes the worlds
biggest beggar, sitting on his butt and making his little paws go
up and down.  He is very possessive of me- if someone hugs me,
he whimpers to get in on the act......he always has to be the center
of attention and thinks everytime I go to work or anywhere at all,
he has to go also.  I have even taken him on some of my sales
calls with me- everyone that meets our Duncan loves him.
My friends laugh at me constantly- they tease me, along with my
daughter about the wardrobe he has squired since he came to
live with me.  He is the love of my life and a great comfort to me.
My neighbors think I am crazy-he hates inclement weather so
when it is raining or snowing, I have to hold a Golf Umbrella over
him or he won't do his "duty"- I love his unconditional love but
sometimes he is overbearing with it :)  He had some expensive
back problems, which is common to this breed but he has lost
weight has a big ottoman to get down off the bed now and is doing
so well........I auditioned him for the part of Toto in a local stage
production of "Wizard of Oz" but he was too overweight then and
too heavy for Dorothy to carry in her basket lol, but he won us 2
free tickets to that wonderful production.  I also auditioned him
for a part in "Gypsy" but he was ornery that day and didn't make
that one either (he hated his hat and sweater of maribu lol)
He's quite a character, getting attached to all of my friends,
never forgetting people and thinking he is the king of this castle
(or anyone elses).......people that knew me previously to his
coming  to live with me are in total awe of my love for him,
when they knew how I hated dogs (including him) previously.
I never want to think of the day that I ever have to lose him-it would
be unbearable for me.   I'm  enclosing a couple of pics of my "Duncan,
the Booooootiful Boofa"                                 Rita
