| The pictures below come from North of our borders - Canada! This great lady does rescue up there and is sharing photos of her fur-children. Here is her story! |
| I am attaching pictures of my 2 best friends, Julie, 18 years old, Sealpoint Siamese, dog-wanna-be, she and her brother Scratch were rescued, by me, when they were 3 years old, Julie had a broken pelvis (the kids in her other family had stepped on her, her pelvis had been broken for over a month, when I got her) and they were both extremely, underweight, Scratch went to Rainbow Bridge, December 7th, 2002, at age 16. Julie at 18 is as strong, as a kitten. Sheba mix-Chihuahua and possibly Corgie, she is 7 years old, she was, also, a rescue. She suffered from seizures and had a severe heart murmur and because of her medical problems, the owners were going to put her down, poor baby, she was only 1.5 years old and now, that she is with me and with good medical care, she is 7 years old and doing, very, well. I am one of the Regional Coordinators for the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue and Transport, so Sheba and Julie have lots of friends, coming and going, as I also foster Chihuahuas, they all get along, very, well together. | Our family has adopted 2 handicapped dogs. One is a 3 legged Beagle, the other is a 3 legged miniature Dachshund we named Little Foot, who just so happens to be the most wonderful and loving pet we've ever owned. He weighs just a little over 9 pounds and he's absolutely one of a kind! We have no doubt that he thinks of himself as a "real" baby,-- and well, he IS our "baby"!!! Born with a birth defect of his left front leg, and a partially deformed right leg, this little fur baby has an over abundant supply of personality. You just wouldn't believe the things he can do that most 4 legged dogs can't {or won't} do. The Dachshund is by FAR our familes favorite breed! |
